You just need to accept that you're going to catch it.

It's inevitable as 50% of the country is determined to spread it. But it's much better to be vaccinated and catch it than unvaccinated and catch it.
We're currently waiting on test results on our son who was exposed at school, quarantined, and then symptomatic. I guess if he has it then it's just a matter of time before we do too.

having a kid in school. But when his elementary started requiring masks, I held out a glimmer of hope that he could avoid getting at school and maybe even a quarantine. So now my concern is more about the order in which we may get it. It's better for him, school wise, to test positive before either one of us in the house. Then he can serve his time and return. If I get it, test positive, and want to stay in my house, then he'll have to quarantine for 20 days. For the duration of my quarantine, plus 10 more days.
nope nope nope. I had a neighbor that had to do that with 4 kids. woof.

Labor day is this weekend, and Clemson's first game is also this weekend.
Why are you so dumb? Is Logan Paul your mentor?

Umm... Nebraska played Illinois last Saturday. There were about four other games too. Bit late on your prognostication there.

and there were 35,000 people there, plus everyone slammed into the bars/restaurants as well.
It was a pure adrenaline rush to be back and feel normal. If you are scared, I say stay home, but if not, go enjoy.

"f you are scared, I say stay home, but if not, go enjoy."

Gee thanks for that advice. It's so ... condescending. Trust me, I can and will make decisions for myself.
First, I said SCARRED, not SCARED. Scarred (jokingly) because I imagine flinching every time someone coughs around me. Or scarred (not so jokingly) because I will potentially have to deal with judgy people like you who will deem me 'scared' for wearing a mask.
Second, I don't get why people having concern for their health (or others around them) is looked at as a negative, a bad thing. One, I don't like being sick. Period. So, I try to avoid that as much as I can.. Two, if I were to get sick, even a little, and test positive, I'll cause my son to lose potentially 15-20 days of in person school. That's not fair to him. So that's part of the risk that I have to weigh. Three, I have an appointment with my family and my mom's doctor of high importance that I'd like to be able to attend in person in 2 weeks...so again, if I'm sick, I won't be able to make it.
So, no. I'm not scared. But yes, I am concerned. Covid is out there and the more people that one is around, the higher the chances of getting it. So I'll mitigate as much as I can. Or I'll stay home, enjoy the good weather and get work done around the house, and watch the game on my projector.
