that the 23rd and 24th woman to come out and claim sexual improprieties by Deshaun Watson happened only after it was leaked that his legal team had offered the existing 22 civil cases a $100,000 settlement each?
I make no pretense of knowing his actual guilt or innocence. But, it seems to me, he is doomed. The hardest thing in the world to prove is a negative, given all the publicity these cases have already gotten. All any woman has to do is show a receipt from a private massage session, and make up whatever she wants.
It will always be a "he said, she said", but with these cases already having been tried in the "Court of Public Opinion", his future in the NFL looks dimmer every day to me. Roger Goodell is all about protecting the NFL's "brand" versus protecting the players, and he holds suspension power over Watson. What an absolute mess.
At the VERY least, Watson used incredibly poor judgement. If a legitimate massage was all he was after, He could have hired his own personal, professional masseuse, and avoided every bit of this. That is what makes it difficult, even for those who desperately WANT to believe his side of the story.

and there are much easier ways to achieve desired outcomes, I also believe there is plenty of gold digging underway. Two grand juries listened to testimonies from the plaintiffs' ten most believable witnesses and pressed no criminal charges against Watson - not even a misdemeanor. All this after the plaintiffs' attorney had 12 months to compare notes from the accusers and cast their testimonies in the best possible light.
Watson has no doubt lost the battle of pubic opinion. Unless the civil case situation turns dramatically, he is well on his way to securing a position in the top ten of the dumbest and creepiest professional athletes of all time though his current infamy will die down. It's too bad. DW4 was my favorite all-time Tiger player along with the Fridge and CW42. He sparked the Clemson program like no other and left the program as a hero with a sterling reputation. He put Clemson Football back on the national map and made a fortune for Clemson University and our coaches.
So we'll see how the civil cases and/or buyouts proceed, but DW4 could not have picked a worse time to humiliate himself on the altar of public perception in the #metoo #woke #twitter era. Still holding out hope for a softer landing ...

Licensed and with proper training. In other words, not “masseuses” like many posts here suggest. In other words, they had careers worth protecting and have a strict code of conduct by which they are supposed to operate.
And as you stated, he had no reason to be looking for their services on Instagram.
I agree that some of these women seem to be trying to capitalize on a payment. That doesn’t mean that he’s innocent or that these women are fabricating stories though.
They haven’t settled yet, and it’s hard to believe that they didn’t take $100,000 if all they want is a payday.

Agreed with all you said. Difference is they're holding out for a bigger pay day. Not much of a payday after the attorney gets his 3rd+.

I haven't said anything about this situation. Guilty, not guilty, whatever, Idk. Only a few and only DW4 knows his intent. I am dissapointed and shocked with him even putting himself in a situation. Guess I always looked at DW4 as a squeaky clean, God fearing man that was wise beyond his years. Hurt is probably a better word. Like it or, it's a stain on Clemson.

why not swing for the fence, they have nothing to lose while Watson has everything to lose. They can extort a much larger dollar figure from him. If they truly are "victims" they should take case before a jury and donate any verdict to charity. But they won't.

This may not be a popular response but I for one am sick and tired of seeing all of these ambulance chasing lawyers commercials saying call all 9s, all 7s, all 3s all 2s (we are about to run out of numbers). In DW4s case if he's done nothing criminal as determined by a court of law what's this about? Everyone these days seem to be looking for something for nothing and that's why there are so many job openings. Now get off my lawn and help me move my soap box before you go.
