We seem to do okay against GT in Death Valley. It is Atlanta that has the buggaboos. ND is a big game, but has no bearing on making it to the ACC Championship game. I think a one loss ACC champ will generally make the playoff IF the second place team also only has one loss.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: We have lost 5 of 6 to the coots and have

Apr 25, 2015, 5:41 PM

Look at the factors surrounding the game last season.

1. It was an away game.

2. Watson got hurt

3. Stoudt couldn't complete passes with the exception to the beautiful passes he completed to the Defensive Backs at GT.

4. Our defense couldn't get off the field which made them tired. They began attacking the edges with the bubble screens and triple option. It wore us down and then we got blown out

To the credit of GT, they did play against FSU in the ACC Championship game. They gave one heck of a challenge too... They also beat UGA in a come back win from a 14 point deficit. They are a good team. However, they lose many good players this season and we have too many play makers coming back. The play book will be slightly different with the same tempo. If any season is viable for a run at it all then this season is it granted our Defensive Front 7 can remain healthy.

Don't care what anyone says....we were about to put GT away physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Watson got hurt and Stoudt happens sometimes. Game over.

Louisville will be a tough game

Apr 25, 2015, 7:16 PM

To start things off it's on a Thursday night and we all know how that goes even though in the past few years we have managed to win the dreaded Thursday night game. It will also be the first test for a lot of new parts on offense and defense and be the first test for Deshaun to play a whole game on his knee. He won't see more than the 1st qtr in the first 2 games if everything goes as planned I'd imagine and Louisville plays tough and will be coming for him. Papa John is also a pretty tough place to play and the crowd and team will be jacked up because it's Clemson and they will be looking for revenge from last year for a game that they probably feel like they should have won in the Valley with Deshaun being out for basically the entire game.

If we get out of Kentucky with the W I think that will be the toughest road game this year and we should go undefeated for away games for the season.

Re: Which home football game concerns you the most?

Apr 24, 2015, 1:30 PM

I think ND has to be the most concerning right now. When we beat ND, GT will become the most important game of the year, and when we beat GT, FSU will be the game of the year.

Talent wise, ND and FSU will have the talent to beat us. We have usually taken care of GT at home and I expect to give them a beat down this year.

ND concerns me because I think that game will be as big as FSU 2013. They return almost everybody and the lights will be bright.

Last year we had UNCheat, NC State, and Louisville 3 saturdays in a row at home... This year we get ND, GT, BC 3 saturdays in a row. Those 15 days will be exciting and I can not wait to be at all 3.

Notre Dame will be the easiest of the three. Georgia Tech will be our toughest test. Hopefully our run defense will be solid. Georgia Tech did lose Smelter and Whaller so it will be interesting to see how they perform. I believe they play Notre Dame the week we have a bye. I'll be paying close attention to that game.

G.T. Will be difficult despite being at home. What we do against N.D. the week before will have a bearing on the tech game. Because tech has a QB who runs their system well our defense will have to be very focused.

Go Tigers!

I wouldn't worry about the Coots in Cola , they are no longer a talented team ..on either side of the ball. They have Fay-Row on offense and that LB who's name escapes me , but they are just not any good anymore ...and save me the Spurrier's coaching acumen garbage , he got housed last November by Dabo and Co.

I can't figure out where some of yall are coming from. FSU is by far the best team on our schedule. GT got lucky that stoudt got put in the game last year or we would have stoned them in ATL. I would put them third on that list.

The better question is which home games

Apr 25, 2015, 6:03 PM

will some fans get all worked up about as being a potential loss when there is no way we lose unless a tornado hits our sideline? The two choices are Wake and BC. I'm going with BC. We will hear "letdown game after GT" talk or "we are looking ahead to Miami" talk. NC St. gets my vote as the road game people are needlessly losing their marbles over.

Dabo and I would say Wofford.***

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

GT, ND, and FSU

Apr 25, 2015, 7:23 PM

Are all going to be about as equally as tough home games. FSU is basically playing for the division and since it is after both GT and ND might determine if we are playing in the playoff or not.

The only good things about the other 2 games is that we have ND on a bye so we should have plenty of time to prepare and come in to the game 100%. With GT we have beaten them at home the last couple of matchups and seem to take care of them fairly easily so playing that game at home may make the difference of coming away with the win, if the game was in ATL then it would be a toss up like it seems it always is.

With a young defense I would say that GT has to be the scariest because you never know with the offense what may happen especially when we couldn't stop them last year with the best defense in the country.
