Thunder Snow!

Jan 17, 2013, 10:08 PM

A bright flash and loud boom of thunder.
Happened about half hour after the rain turned to snow.

Doesn't seem real... The two times I've seen it, the ground

Jan 17, 2013, 10:46 PM

was covered quicker than any other snow I've ever seen.

Yep...that day I think we got 5-6" in just a few hours

Jan 17, 2013, 11:01 PM

A group of us met for drinks. It was sleeting when I was walking to the bar. By the time happy hour was over, the ground was covered and the buses had stopped running. The issue wasn't reallly the amount of snow on the ground, but the rate it was coming down. A friend and I ended up walking home (2 miles, uphill) in the snow because the cabs were having such a hard time.

Wow, it that sounds like a tough walk in the snow after happy hour.

It appears to have tapered off some now, but it was coming down pretty hard right after the thunder.
