And I kind of liked that one where Bono rides the carriage and sing baby’s got blue skies up ahead. Oh yeah, and they’re from ####### Ireland! They are born blessed. No way you don’t like them. The whole world likes them. Excluding the British and some of their own. Until they see the redheads. Then they all tolerate them and what not. The only sin ever committed regarding U2 was Apple thinking we all wanted their worst ever album downloaded to our mobile phones. That’s it. Their only mistake was giving away free music. But they were still Irish. And they were fighting aids and what not too. So that’s stylish and stuff.

worked with some engineers from a different division in Northern Ireland. The subject of hating U2 came up while we were all out at a bar, and all of us kind of looked over at them, not knowing if we had insulted their national heroes or not.
Let me tell you something, there is nothing funnier than a drunken expletive-laced rant in an Irish brogue on the pomposity of Bono. Between that and their laughing at a former coworker who got the #### kicked out of him by the British cops because he looked like some IRA head honcho, we got along just fine.

Rattle and Hum was pretty good. The movie was good too. After all, it had B.B. King and B.B. King's band in it.

Anyone claiming Joshua Tree isn't one of the best albums shouldn't be allowed to post on music.

but back then it sounded good. Weird.
Most bands that are good have a golden LP that was good and still is good.
Remove all their music from Spotify or whatever and will anyone really care?

Bono agrees with you

The 61-year-old star explained that other than the U2 track Vertigo from 2004, he finds it hard to listen to their music.
Bono explained: “I’ve been in a car when one of our songs has come on the radio, and I’ve been the colour of – as we say in Dublin – scarlet.
“I’m just embarrassed. I do think U2 pushes out the boat on embarrassment quite a lot.
“And maybe that’s the place to be as an artist is right at the edge of your level of pain for embarrassment, your level of embarrassment.
“And the lyrics as well. I feel that on Boy and other albums it was sketched out very unique and original material. But I don’t think I filled in the details.”

U2 is straight up as>s my dudes. It’s the musical equivalent of marvel movies or Chili’s, made for peasantry with poor taste

it's one thing to say you don't care for U2...but to compare them to Chili's? THAT is very definition of cluelessness.
Every U2 album up through Achtung Baby was dang good. Might not be your flavor of music, but to say it was "made for peasantry" just sounds like you're trying to be "cool" and have never actually listened to it.

Chaz15 is at one of those tough milestones in life
Apr 29, 2022, 8:27 AM
|
|
He's at the stage of life where current students would regard him with suspicion in TTT or Backstreets, yet he can't accept his waning youth so he is unconsciously turning into a total try-hard on things cultural in an attempt to hang on to those halcyon days. Until we get through this phase together (because we've all been there, and it's our job to help him) just say stuff in music threads like "That new Haxan Cloak is SO fire" and it will keep him feeling comfortable.

Act like you don't know hipster modern acts, making him feel mentally closer to the youth element. Well played.
