distance as a foot. It is called a "foot" because the King at the time had a foot that was 12 inches long. It makes far more sense to use the Metric System because we all have 10 fingers and toes, so this is more intuitive for most people. I imagine converting the sport of football from imperial to metric would confuse a lot of the same people, which is probably why it has stuck for so long in this country.
Go Tigers, stick with imperial units for the sake of the fans.

They really aren’t. Then they’re forced to wear an uncomfortable and less protective shoe than one that would fit better. If changed to metric many people couldn’t compute and wouldn’t know if they were larger than average or smaller. Which could help some people be honest with their size. After all, as Bob says, size doesn’t matter, how you use it is what does matter.

Yeah, back in those days, it took 12 thumbs to make a kings foot. Now granted, that was a perversion of a latin term for ounce or 1/12. (hey, they king was foot guy and you can't call a royal a pervert). Thus the term was also used the work "thumb". And since everyone has them, and even a spare. Took 12 thumbs to make a foot. Hey, the king likes what he likes.
Thus, to control mathmatics, only those born with 6 digits on each had could count. Very sneaky.
So the empirical system and the metric system are the same. All about fingers for a king's preference.

tried to peddle to me when I measured my "foot-long" hot dog and it was 10 inches. With all due respect to the queen, I don't care what size shoes she wears. I wanted a classic foot-long dog and that's what I got after the scene I caused.

I have a rare condition where I have to eat at least 5000 calories a day or I lose weight. it is a constant effort and very expensive condition, especially if you like and can afford fine things.
