a small city and the people were highly civilized. That's uncommon for a town that big and something no other small city had which ever I knew.

A decade ago I spent some time in Chattanooga. It's about the same toilet hole as is G'ville now.

I'm surprised to hear a South Carolinian speak lowly of Greenville. It's on everybody's top 10 list for the last 20 years as a great place to live. Most locals won't criticize it at all. I've never cared for it. What is it about it that you don't like?

It just happened that I was late 20s before I remembered that I hadn't gone to college. The drugs and drinks might have had something to do with that.

Mr Jimmy Carter had totally destroyed our economy so I had come to SC looking for work. Greenville was on of the places that seemed to be able to survive the Carter Crush.

About the time I decided to pull the trigger on college I discovered Clemson and boy do I have a testimony to share.

You guys who chose Clemson impress this Tennessee Hillbilly. Although my high school education was more than sufficient to provide me with a background to do college work my brain wasn't part of my decision in college selection.

I wanted a 4yr degree and God saw to it that I ended up in the right place and enrolled in the one single university which He deemed right for me. Literally, an act of God put me in Clemson and got me across that stage in Little John.

My Grandfather, who was a Master Chief on the USS Tambor in WWII, was also from Tenn (Sparta). He really was from Hillbilly country!
