Since there seems to be an older demographic mostly here, can any one tell me at what age is normal to start making random noises when getting in and out of chairs seemingly involuntarily. And when you stopped being able to trust farts.
Asking for a friend.

At some point, you will also become very familiar with the unconscious but frequently expelled "old man" noises. These are utterances or phrases or simple moans and groans that come out of you on their own without any provoking on your part.

The older you get, the more things quit working. Just like a used car, the older it gets, the more parts breakdown.

Well it is complicated, but after consulting to the SMEs of TNet I have been able to capture it in mathematical form for you to solve for your- I mean your friends particular situation.
INS = B x D [t2/ 1/A]n x Oi
INS - Involuntary Noise and Sounds factor dBA/sec
B - adult beverage count - be honest no one will arrest you
D - Dietary constant - for example Chili is a high number, chili with beans is a higher number (even though TNet says it ain't chili with beans)
t - time in chair or sofa
A - age (of friend)
n - rate of movement constant (in/sec) (this will probably morph into a whole nutter thread)
Oi - Old Injury constant ( or new injury cause its all a pain)
Solve for A and you will know.

Almost 70 and it really hasn't started yet. I know when and when not to trust a fart. After riding in a car for a few hours, I have a tendency to get what I call "stove up", joints get stiff and I might make a few noises.Being in good health and exercising makes aging a lot less difficult.
