What’s your Vibe about next Saturday night ?

Aug 28, 2021, 8:21 PM

I still can’t get a good feel for this one

I keep seeing different scenarios play out

Either Georgia can’t get any of their offense going because of our Dominant Defensive Line and we hold them to like 17 points and we win, somewhere around 27-17

Or

They come out of the gate, like hungry Dawgs and run, run, run and do what they did against in 2014 and win handily.

I think the secret is shutting down their run and MAKE them pass !!!

I think our O struggles, so D has to keep us in it.

Cant ever be down by more than 1 score, staying within striking distance.

They were #1 nationally in YPC defense last season. A lot will ride on DJ.

It's difficult to know since we haven't seen either team in a game. What I hope is that our D-line dominates and keeps UGA off the field so that their defense stays on the field and gets tired.

I think Clemson will have some success running stretching the line and finding a crease. I think Clemson has good team speed. I think Ross will be a nightmare match up for them in the slot position. I look for Clemson to keep the chains moving fast tempo 125 yds on ground 275 yds in the air. DJ will have two long throws. Clemson 27-20.

Hope So Also!!! The Mutts plain for us is about the same as yours for them. They're plan will be running the ball 60 to 65% of their plays, with their TEs heavily involved in their passing game. They will do their best to keep the clock running in an attempt to limit how many times we get the ball to our WRs bc, they believe their D will shut down our running game. That is how they beat us before, and that won't change in the game Saturday!!!!

DJ will have to get rid of the ball quick to Dixon, and Shipley, or to our TE's across the middle hopefully in space, and make them stop it, and that will open up our WRs, hopefully to Ross. If Ross can get a pass in space, he is taking it to the house.

I think that the first half will be a tight game, and whoever makes the best half time adjustments will win the game. Keep in mind that Tony Elliott didn't start coaching our TEs bc Pearman just wanted to do something else. Tony started coaching the TEs bc he wanted/needed more out of our TEs, and it was an easy move bc, there was CJ waiting for an on the field coaching position!!! And they figured that if Danny Pearman wanted to screw off, they would put him in a screw off position. That is what I believe happen with that coaching change bc, Pearman wasn't getting the job done with coaching up our TEs, they weren't that good at blocking, and they were dropping the ball to much for TEs that Tony needed to depend on!!!!

UGA takes the ###### from the last two OSU games and plays extra physical. Heavy run game that wears down our secondary with some deep shots.

We need to win the field position and turnover battles. Getting home and lighting up Daniels will be key too. If we can get him shook and their O one dimensional, we should be able to put up enough points to pull it out.

Aug 28, 2021, 9:02 PM

All I know is that we can't afford to lose this game.

If we drop out of the top 5, it will be tough moving back in the top 4 with our schedule. If you notice, the top 4 teams that start out after week 1 are hard to overcome if they all keep winning.

Depending on how other teams fare, we may not get in playoffs with 1 loss. Certainly not with 2. I would hate to start the season with a loss. It would put tremendous pressure on the team for the rest of the season.

I think this is a MUST win game for us. Maybe a Must win game for Ga. I see this game as being close. If refs don't call holding against Ga., then we should also hold and if they call it against us, Dabo should raise holy hellll. We cannot let refs. beat us. We know teams get away with holding our D all the time. And look for the infamous SEC injury to stop the game when they get tired or to stop our mo.

Clemson by a squeaker. 24-17.

I think Clemson wins by 7 to 10 points, but it will be a nail biter to begin.
I hope we win the toss and defer, then our defense does it's job.
If they come out running like you surmise it could be a long night. But if we can contain them, then anything can happen.
As far as our offense goes ,Clemson need to control the tempo and the clock but don't overlook the quick strike either. However they also can't turn the ball over or have drives stall because of penalties.
I do think Clemson needs to put up anywhere between 28-34 points. Anything under 28 could result in a loss. Anything over 34 we should win.

UGA’s D-line is as good as ours talent wise so OL’s

Aug 28, 2021, 9:15 PM

Will be the difference. Though their line is more stacked then ours if we execute well we can out scheme their D but not sure we can push them off them off ball early ala Alabama in 2015/17. We will have to tire them out by stretching the field left to right and up and down and avoid between the tackle plays. We have a huge advantage in the rpo QB run. Daniels is smallish competitively to DJ and can’t run, but he can lean on his RB’s who may be the best group in the nation. If skalski and Spector are stout wear be able to force them to be one dimensional. With All of that I have no idea -it will be a fight. We won’t know the winner until the 4th quarter is over. May come down to made or missed FG’s. Think Louisville in Death Valley in prime time back in 2015/16.

Our OL scared me so much last year. Hoping we have drastically improved, especially on run blocking. I honestly think it comes down to which OL holds up better to a stacked defense the best. That makes me worried. I do better better with having DJ back there though. He is a gamer and I feel better having him than the fellah Georgia has.

No doubt Georgia’s defensive front is formidable. I think the key is to spread their D out - make them play sideline to sideline. Keep their linebackers and safeties occupied as well having to play zone pass defense.

We can’t realistically expect our O-line to win prolonged battles against their pass rush. Therefore the key is to get the ball out of DJ’s hand quickly. You know that D-line is going to come at you with high energy, the more snaps they play and Do Not get to DJ in time to be effective, the more energy they expend in a wasted effort.

This is why I say spread ‘em out and get ‘em some exercise. Whatever you do, don’t just try to run into the teeth of that defense until you’ve worn them out. ……Then you can hit them up the gut late with a dose of Will Shipley.

I think Georgia’s offensive plan should be similar. They’ll find it tough sledding to run between the tackles on us. They need to establish a run game and the best way for them to do that is get to the perimeter with speed. If they can get Zamir White to the edge of throw it to James Cook where he can turn it upfield , that might work well for them.

Ultimately I think whichever offense can find ways to move the chains and stay on the field wins this thing. I also think Clemson has more offensive weapons which create mismatches on Georgia’s secondary. Their best corner is a guy we have seen get toasted maybe more than any of our DB’s. Then they seriously lacki depth in the secondary. We go 3-deep with quality receivers that will tax their defensive backfield. I say use them and exploit the soft underbelly of the Dawgs.

We are very talented, Georgia is very talented and neither team likes the other. It will be a super physical game and I hope we can block their D line and linebackers. Neither team can afford penalties or turnovers and the team that plays the cleanest will win.

Jadar Johnson. TJ Green. Cordrea Tankersley. Adrian Baker. Ryan Carter. Gary Peters. BJ Goodson. I think we had some dudes in 2014. Either we got tired in the 4th or Georgia figured something out. Gurley sure got loose in the 4th quarter. Of course he killed us in 2013 as well, but more so early in that game and then we made some changes to cut the long crap out.

I'm expecting a PERFECT STORM on both sides of the ball. The way last year ended was a shocker to the team and coaching staff and both will rise to the occasion and really make a statement to college football. Same - having a tough time. A lot depends on the O line and d line. If the D line is dominant, I think we'll be fine. Not a blowout - GA game never is, but we can definitely win.

Re: What’s your Vibe about next Saturday night ?

The team that wins the LOS battles will win the game. They have 2 space eaters on the DL. They must be blocked, so our run game can work. Sustain long drives ending with points. Our defense might have to win this one. Close bare knuckle brawl. 24-17 Tigers prevail.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We start slow on offense but DLine keeps them off balance.

Aug 29, 2021, 9:02 PM

I think we start scoring by 2nd quarter and keep it rolling through the end of the game for the win. DJ will have a good but not perfect night. Running game will be an area of concern early on but we are not playing the School of the Blind but rather a decent defense. A lot of sloppy penalties early that are coachable and set the stage for Game #2 against SC State. Just my $0.02.

Go Tigers!!!
