What's for breakfast?
Jan 13, 2022, 9:51 AM
|
|
Not weekends when you have lots of time to get all brunchy, but on normal weekdays or busy weekends.
I used to just have coffee, but these days I feel better with some food. I'm currently on vanilla yogurt, usually with some fruit, maybe a bit of granola on top.
What's your go-to?

The basic idea is to soak oats in milk overnight. You put the oats in a mason jar, bowl, etc. add any seasoning that you want, and cover with milk. By the morning, the milk has softened the oats.
To me, its an easier way to make oatmeal with things added in (peanut butter, fruit, cinnamon, etc.)

I can eat anything at any time. It's kind of cream based has potatoes, put some green onions on top, and put a little bacon on top. It was perfect. Then again, I could eat anything any time. My body has not set rules as to what I eat when. Breakfast for dinner...sure. Prime Rib for breakfast...no prob. I only use really quality ingredients so it's all good even for breakfast.

That's probably really the right call, but when do you get hungry again after breakfast? In an hour or so? I already had my breakfast and I will probably make a smoothie coming up. Have lunch at 1:30 maybe and then dinner at 6:30. I am obviously doing it wrong. Maybe it's the coffee that gets you through.

It lasts all morning, even after workouts. It’s got collagen for protein and nuts/nut butter for fat.
Today’s ingredients were: water, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, beets, kale, carrots, almonds, chia seeds, flax seeds, collagen (3 scoops vital proteins brand) and peanut butter.
It’s taken a few years to figure out how to make them filling. The collagen was the game changer. That brand has pretty minimal flavor and like 18 g per scoop.

I try to keep it pretty standard on weekdays.
Jan 13, 2022, 11:22 AM
|
|
I usually go with two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers … and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.
Now, on weekends, I’ll go a little crazy. Kale smoothie, maybe even throw in an egg white omelet.

natural peanut butter.
And tea, as mentioned elsewhere today.
BUT. But.
About 2-4 times a year APM will have a full breakfast which means multiple meats (bacon, sausage), eggs, grits, French Toast, etc. Did this for our Christmas meal this year. Also did it once at Waffle House when out shopping during the Christmas season.
So good.

Because my wife bought them and I wanted to remember how awful they are.
Usually I have oatmeal, granola bar, or fruit. On weekends I may have pancakes after a long run.

I don't waste a good breakfast on that time of the day. First off, I'm an injun but I ain't going to war. Second is, it takes a long time to cook the only thing I call breakfast which is 4 eggs, qtr lb of uncured bacon, pan of biscuits and another pan of gravy, sausage if I got it.
I throw a blob of jam on the plate and it finds it's way into everything including the eggs. I ain't worth throwing away for four or five hours after that.
Oh, homegrown maters in season. If I have company I usually scramble them some eggs and cook half a pound of bacon, and add fried potatoes to make my regular batch of gravy and biscuits feed everyone.

Depends on if I'm at home or on travel
Jan 13, 2022, 5:37 PM
|
|
At home: 1 egg and egg whites scramble with green peppers open face on an english muffin. Whole thing takes about 10 minutes, but I'm up and helping the kids get ready for school (if they need it), so that's fine.
On travel: There's Chick-fil-a up the block, so Egg White Grill.
And coffee. Every day.
