He will be the 2nd highest rated player (signed or transfer) coming in this year.
South Carolina very quickly adding good players.
A lot still remains to be seen with how it all turns out, and they still have big issues on O line, but it's pretty interesting to see them getting some the transfers they are.

border state rival, 4* recruit acquired via the TP, and I could go on and on with further examples displaying it's relevance to Clemson football discussion. I could list all the signicant additions both of our rivals have acquired through the TP for 2022, there are many.

Please check my post history and tell me how I'm SOOO enamored with other schools.
However, in this one rare instance, I post it as
1) it's our rival,
2) the player is leaving another rival (which has been stockpiling talent),
3) I'm a fan of college football in general.
If none of that is interesting to you too, then this post wasn't meant for you.

so he's moving on to somewhere with much less if any real competition. Georgia is losing several players on the defensive side of the ball too so the fact that he's transferring is pretty telling.
Just another example where playing immediately is more important than winning.

QB Rattler from OK will get them 2 more wins this year, so that “could” make them 9-4 after bowl.

They've managed to win 9 or more games just seven times in school history and four of those were under Spurrier.
In 2022, they likely lose to Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, A&M, Missouri, Florida, Tennessee and Clemson to finish 4 - 8.
They'll probably slip-up and win one maybe two they shouldn't so I'm going with 5 - 7.

Don't believe they will lose the Missouri game. If this running back was 4*, why wasn't he playing at UGA ? Makes you wonder why he is transferring.

he didn't play b/c there were 4 equally or better talented RB's who were also all older and more experienced.
Zamir White - 5* Jr
James Cook - 4* Sr
Milton Kendal - 4* So
Kenny McIntosh - 4* Jr
Carroll was the #8 RB last year. He probably saw a much better opportunity to get on the field earlier and get more carries.

He had plenty of offers. Every single player SC has signed from the portal have had multiple power 5 offers from other schools after hitting the portal. These aren't players no one wants.

Unfortunately this Portal stuff really works to the betterment of the handful of super-high profile programs (Alabama, OH State, and [much as I hate to admit] UGA) and for the multitude of mediocre programs (USC Jr. the example here).
UGA can .. uh er ... 'suggest' to a player that isn't panning out to find a school via the portal (which allows them to over-recruit each year and then cull out the ones that don't work).
Also-ran programs like USC Jr. can find wanna be / I-know-I'm-stil-a-big-shot players to fill out their weak roster and hope that these portal heroes can be melded together to create a historic 7-5 team.
Not so good for the really really good programs (Clemson / Michigan / Notre Dame / Oklahoma) which don't seem to be as attractive for 'portal heroes' (e.g., MI or OK) or which don't really want lots of 'portal heroes (e.g., Clemson / ND).
And of course the NIL deals work for the super rich type schools (Miami, USC, aTm, Oregan), and so they can buy their players to compete against the super-high-profile programs.
These changes in the landscape, as many have predicted, will be challenging for us.

It is frustrating to see our rivals (Bama, UGA, USuCk) grabbing big star guys from the portal left and right while we do nothing. I’m sure Dabo has a plan, maybe waiting to do his portal moves til after Signing Day or Speing practice? Like it or not tbe Lamecocks have gotten better during the off-season. I never want them to be better. I enjoy seeing them suck.

Bump before the ACC Championship next year to ensure we are in the Top 4. It can’t hurt to beat a better USuCk team. I really feel like our defense will still be good enough to say top 10 and our offense can’t do a bit improve. So as long as Biden doesn’t implode the country I think we can make some legit noise.
