What was with players yesterday?

Sep 27, 2020, 10:39 AM

I watched parts of almost evry important game that was on. Just ridiculous posing and acting out with almost every tackle, catch or score? Woofing at the opponents and their sideline continually. Was yesterday show your behind day?

just like society people will push the boundaries until someone puts a stop to it which nowadays is not happening there is a really small amount of sportsmanship in sports today

Exactly - the refs have to control that with flags, not warnings. The same behavior, including standing over players on the ground, has drawn flags the last few seasons.

Miami did that years ago and the refs stopped it. It is not being enforced now? Maybe. Seems like this season targeting is less of an emphasis than in prior years not that the two are comparable

I've noticed lots of DB's doing the "incomplete-and-in-your-face" crossing out with their arms before the play is even over.

I've particularly noticed it with Clemson DB's. Then they get burned on the next play.

Yeah I can't stand it when they do that crap especially when the only reason it was incomplete was because it was over thrown or dropped. Coverage is usually not the cause for the incompletion. Should be saying thank you and get back to the line of scrimmage and try not to get beat next time.

I noticed the exact same. My hypothesis is coaches feel they cannot enforce discipline in this environment.

Discipline is racist.

I noticed the exact same thing and wondered if it was just me or if there really is a difference in the way that the players are playing the game this year. I personally don’t like it. I think it exhibits poor sportsmanship and I wish they would put a lid on it. I assume this newfound behavior has caught the officiating crews off guard, so I hope they regroup and start instituting better sportsmanship behavior that has always been expected in the past.

They even celebrate a good tackle after they gave up a 1st down. Or overly celebrate a play they should make, while they are losing by 21.

Everyone yesterday was someone else's player, not Dabo's. Best isn't everybody's standard.

When you have SEC speed, strength and corn dog ability, all bets are off in terms of showboating.

The ACC is not immune to this silliness. Pitt looked stupid IMO playing dunk the football through the little hoop they brought to the sideline. It’s not immoral behavior, but to this fan of sports, it is annoying. It’s harmless too, so will have to get used to it.

to make these profound statements, expressing support for the baseless protest movement or "a need for change". You should be mesmerized; "ooh" & "ahh", as if u saw a UFO and make no mention of these obvious displays of ignorance, immaturity, & ephing stupidity. Just "embrace the change".Full Stop
