Just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong for us this football season

From a more than usual amount of injuries, transfers, depth issues, recruiting de-commitments and some of our best coaches leaving, but yet we are still on the verge of winning 10 games! Amazing! When these type of things happen to other programs, especially the coots, those programs end up 2 and 10. Guess things are near as bad as they seen. Roll on Tigers roll on

A good bit of luck, and some spectacular D and O plays, went our way when we won several close games to get to 9-3. We could've easily had a 6-6 record this year.
Examples were
-- the missed FG try by Syracuse late that wd hv tied the game
-- the defensive stops (two) late in games, near the goal lines
-- several dropped TD passes by our opponents
-- Loserville QB Cunningham slipping and falling at the 2-yard line, with an open receiver in the corner of the end zone. (If he had not had to go out with an injury to stop a long UL drive early in the 4Q we would have likely lost.)
Our D made some HUGE stops this year, but they gave-up a ton of yards to mediocre teams in the first 6 or 7 games. Early-on, I questioned our kicking-off to start the games as the other teams usually started the games with 3 to 4 first downs and,after a punt, our O started with bad field position. Then we got Tyler Davis back.
Our O was pitiful most of the year. When the OC finally realized we HAD to run the ball, we started to score more. (That included taking the RPOs away from Big Cinco 5.)
It was a long season and I'm glad we finished 9-3. Hope we get one more. Need it for recruiting... Go TIGERS!

I don't think the coots ever had to deal with other schools sniffing after their coaches or recruits.

Not even close to "just about everything". And even if it was, it can ALWAYS be worse. The injury bug and more than a few self-inflicted wounds kept us "down" this year.
