What no one is wanting to talk about with Clemson & the BCS-

It looks likely now that an 11-1 Clemson team gets selected for the Sugar.

But what I have been taking notice of over the past few weeks is the very real possibility that Clemson could lose close to USuC and still get that at-large berth to the Sugar. If you don't think it's possible, you don't understand the BCS. First, obviously, Clemson would have to still finish in the Top 14 of the BCS. It looks quite possible that with the modest bump in the computers that would occur just for playing another elite SEC team and the tempered drop in the human polls that would occur from losing close to a Top 10 team, Clemson could go into that game ranked #10 or #11 and still be at #14 on 12/2.

Only 3 very possible additional events would need to unfold. Texas would also need to lose to go to 9-3. (They must play at Kansas State.) Oklahoma would also need to lose to go to 9-3. (They must play at W.Vir. and at TCU and I would count on Mack Brown to tank in one of those two.) La. Tech must not finish in the Top 16. (I'm not sure they'd finish there if they won out at 11-1, but they must still yet play a pair of 8-2 teams in San Jose State and Utah State.)

Listen - the thought of losing to the ##### again makes me sick and I certainly do not think we would be worthy of going to any BCS if we lose to them. But just know you heard it on 11/11. We could find ourselves losing in 2 weeks and still being paired up with 'Bama in the Sugar. Not a pleasant thought!

would be selected. Losing our only two games against good competition will look very bad both in the eyes of the voters, and to the BCS bowls.
