game and did not leave the game with an injury. There was no mention of him being injured in the game. Now he's being held out with no announcemnt or explanation. It's perfectly reasonable to ask why, and question why there has been no explanation.

offense. These reps aren't helping him or the team one bit. He's had virtually all of the reps this year anyway; he's had no shortage of reps. Why not let some of the backups, who really really do need the reps, get the reps? It makes no sense whatsoever.

I said he needs all he can get. He does and there is no disputing that. I chose to trust they didn’t put Puma back in for a rationale reason. Now we know what it is.
I get there is a complete lack of trust for the coaches decisions all of the time, but I’m not in that camp.

"DJ was in a position to play, he practiced all week", Elliot said after the game. "Definitely wanted to let him play to continue to build his rhythm and his confidence, and that was the process there. You saw Taisun in there early, we were working our two QB package a little bit, but he banged up his shoulder and that is why DJ played a little more than we would have liked to".
So, they did want DJ to get reps to build rhythm and confidence, but intended to pull him earlier than they did, but had to leave him in longer than they wanted because Taisun got hurt. The headline should have read
"Elliot says Uiagaleilei played to build confidence, but played longer than they wanted due to injury to Phommachanh"
I was questioning why DJ was still playing at that stage of the game. I understood your response was that it was because "he needed all the reps he could get". In my mind that's the same as saying he's still playing to get more reps. That didn't make any sense, and that's why I "LOL". We now know, from TE's mouth, that DJ was still playing at that stage because TP was injured, which we did not know at the time. Playing DJ early to build rhythm and confidence makes perfect sense, even if he's a little gimpy, as long as he's effective and our best option at QB. Once the game is in hand, given his injury, it no longer made sense to leave him in. TE's comments confirm they left him in longer than they'd planned.

Pretty sure I said that too!! Or agreed or something, haha? I definitely felt like Mafah was going to be good, but he needs to hit the hole faster when he decides thats where he is going. Should get better but his first steps were faster in HS, but he is big dude so easier to break tackles probably.
