They should stick with the original "V" one in the middle even though it's always reminded me a little of Auburn's interlocking AU logo. That V with interlocking swords was created by Coach George Welsh's son back in the early 90's if I remember correctly.

I think what you are talking about is described this way: Envision yourself being directly above a cavalier. You are looking straight down on him. You are seeing the top of his hat. He is facing forward, so his face is looking toward the bottom of the logo. He has crossed his arms and the sabres are pointing behind him, which from your perspective would be the top of the logo.

I'll go see if I can find a picture.
