What has UGA done in the past 36 years to attract top recruits?

[1]

We've won 2 National Championships since their 1 and only. They've won their conference only 4 times in the past 36 years.... We've won 3 in the past 7 years. The last time they were relevant was 2005. I get that Georgia is a talent rich state and a lot of those kids probably grew up Dawgs.... But why would these out of state kids like Zamir White want to play for an irrelevant program in the worst division of football?

For a person like Zamir White, Georgia tells him he can come an be the next Todd Gurley or Keith Marshall. Plus they have a history of putting running backs into the NFL. However, they do seem to wear them out while they are spend at Georgia or they get hurt.

I agree, they are selling their RB tradition, and their supposed "Big Game atmosphere" I mean, what's bigger than going to Vandy, the Roach, or KY?

They are lucky if they last the three years.

Well, maybe not Keith Marshall

History of putting RB's in the NFL? Based on what?...

Outside of Hershel Walker and Todd Gurley who are the RB's they have had that have been quality backs in the NFL? And it was long time between Walker and Gurley. Only other one that comes to mind is Robert Edwards, but his NFL career was short lived due to injuries and the freak injury he got at the beach for the one pro bowl he made it to.

TK, this is a historic occasion, we actually agree ;) Don't get me wrong, UGA backs have often been all world in college, but yeah, HUGE drop off in NFL. Best guy out a UGA ever in the NFL was a part time player at Jawga.. went to Denver in the 6th round, Terrell Davis. Past that, not so much

UGa just has more history and tradition compared to Chicken Central.

Their biggest tradition seems to be achieving less with more.

UGA has one of the most beautiful campuses out there. It has an enormous amount of history in football and it owns the State of GA when it comes to football. Not to mention a freagin huge alumni support. The fans are a$$holes at times and they love their dawgs. They have a rich history of having great running backs. Will that continue under Smart that we will see this year.

Clemson is not known for its running backs. We are good but not great. Spiller was very good, so was James Davis but they were not great. I hated that we missed out on either Kieth Marshall and Gurley both from NC. I'm hoping Feaster puts it all together and becomes a great RB but he too has to get by two good 4* RBs. I hate to resort to getting a 3* RB that gave USuC consideration.

For their 2017 class, they signed the #7, #8 & #24 offensive linemen. They've already gotten a commit from Max Wray for their '18 class and have 17 offers out for offensive linemen in 2018. It's pretty clear that UGA is building a substantial run threat down there in Athens for years to come. Success isn't guaranteed but the vision is pretty clear imo.
