Zac Brooks is obviously the more talented RB. why doesnt he get more touches. I know Dabo is committed to Seniors, and i agree with that 8 times out of 10. but comeon, we need big play makers who will get us TDs. Mcdowell doesnt even have 1 yet this season.
Also, Is it just me or is the offense becoming too complicated and flamboyant? Quit trying so hard and do the simple things again!
but McDowell is dependable. The problem with our running game is that Tajh is getting more carries than the starting RB. Tajh is a passing QB with mobility, he isn't a running QB. Chad Morris needs to understand this and correct this through his play selection. We don't need Tajh to be a runner. We have two dependable backs in Brooks and McDowell, but they aren't getting enough carries.
I'd be surprised if Tajh ran a 4.7. Brooks looks as if he could develop into an NFL type back especially with his hands, which seem to have become an afterthought in the passing game. I get that the backs have to pass protect but our backs haven't been very involved in the passing game in recent years and i don't get that. Scheme the talent, don't make the talent play a scheme. Tajh is not a running QB at all. He's a passer who CAN move when necessary. I get the occasional QB draw as an effective play on passing downs. Tajh being the primary ball carrier ain't it to me at all. The kid gets beat the #### up that way and isn't elusive enough to really be a threat.
Hate to beat a dead horse, but everyone else on here has all week so I might as well too. I agree with you, except I would like to see CJ Davidson get the bulk of the carries. To me, he looks very similar to CJ Spiller (minus the top gear speed of course) but he seems to have that 6th sense about making the right cut at the right time and seems to have great speed and willingness to go inside as well as outside. I have to agree with you about the upperclassmen loyalty issue though.
We have no premier back, we have decent backs but not great, my boy from Concord NC. is going to change that, he's a junior this year but oh my god the stats, not to mention he knows how to win and he wants to come to Clemson, straight from his dad's mouth, I live in concord and have seen this kid just destroy defenses, in 8 games this year he has 1,953 yds 23 td's and averging over 9 yds a carry as a junior (Rocky Reid) 6'1 210lbs
I like Hot Rod, but he's Dwayne Allen dance happy when he gets the ball. Zack is a good downhill runner, but you need to be able to create running lanes for him to hit the hole and make someone feel it when he hits them at the next level.
