I feel like anytime you have the amount of turnover that Clemson has had with coaches it is going to impact recruiting. I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. I feel like a lot of kids are just feeling out the situation first.

It's more to Alabama's recruiting than that. That's a simpleton response. Alabama's tradition as the winningest program ever and Clemson a small upcoming powerhouse, having to constantly prove it belongs in the upper tier. The sizes of these schools compared to Clemson equals no comparison and that's one of the reasons Dabo loved saying Lil ole Clemson. These schools are also flourishing in NIL whereas Clemson not because of location and keeping their values in tact. Is winning championships more important than building strong leaders for tomorrow and not honor the values you recruited them for?

What has happened is the National Media...aka...ESPN...has tried to make us irrelevant ... the first sign of a demise and they jumped all over it...they don't like Dabo...they don't want anything, any conference, any team screwing up their agenda...dabo and Clemson have been doing that for the past decade...im not sure if ESPN tried to get FSU/Clemson to join the sec and dabo stood his ground or what...but it's clear that anything we do or have done good is minimalized and any crack in the #### is maximized...

We are seen as a dying breed, a flash in the pan, on the downward spiral after one "less than" season...they hate Dabo and what he stands for but it really has nothing to do with him...it's their agenda...they are FOX and CNN combined in that THEY HAVE THE ENTIRE AUDIENCE!!! It's not split one or two ways, there is no competition!!! They absolutely control 100% of the narrative!!!

The narrative matters to young people watching tv!!! Dabos words and beliefs are not wrong, but ESPN make them a liability at every chance they get!!! Dabo could learn a lesson or two from this...his job is too produce the best football team possible for Clemson and to do it in the best way possible...he gets paid a ton of money for this...sometimes your job requires you to be very good at it but not tell everyone what you believe or know!!! EVERYONE don't need to know, the people around you do!!! There is a difference and sometimes the moment needs to be measured...but he likes to talk!!! I applaud him for his beliefs and even agree...but even our players are consulted on things they need to say in interviews to the public and media because no one wants to make it harder on our team or program by being misconstrued or taken out of context! He should be consulted at times too and adhere that consulting!!! When what you say hurts your team and/or program then you shouldn't say it because it hurts others around you!!! Saban says a lot of things that could hurt his program...but no one is on his #### national media wise at this time and it doesn't matter not hurt his program...Dabo says the same thing but they are on his #### and therefore it hurts his program!!!

It's okay...Dabo is right in his belief system...and good always wins...but sometimes the bad has its days and time! Right now the bad has reared its head for Clemson!

But I believe in Dabo and in Clemson and I think that good wins in the end!!!

flag link

True...and as much as I hate it...you're right about the short term...absolutely right...and if that's the case then I'll hate not having what we have had for a few years ... but I'm a 45 year fan, played for coach Ford and thought winning 3 ACC titles in a row as a player was freaking awesome...what Dabo has done, the way he has done it, making the playoffs every year and two Nattys makes me believe that if there is short term stagnation then he will either figure it out and it won't be long or he will get out and then it will be on CLEMSON to figure it out with what's next...iah...im betting on Dabo at this point!!!

We don’t even have a right to complain right now! Our winning the last 11 years has been nothing short of a miracle.

If we are complaining now we need a dose of reality because since the 1st day Dabo took over we have gotten better And better everyday in every way!

Clemson football will be very competitive with the top 5-10 teams for the foreseeable future. We will win more National Championship’s too.

We keep getting better & better everyday, in every way!
“The only disability is a bad Attitude” Dabo Swinney!!
Let’s Go Tigers!

That's a terrible way to look at things. Dabo has been doing it right

Apr 25, 2022, 7:35 PM

since 2009. Do you even know Clemson is the 2nd winningest program in America since Dabo took over as head coach? He's done things the right way since day 1 - what do you mean "doing right doesn't win in the end"? What the heck else does Dabo and "doing right" need to accomplish to make you see doing right can be highly successful?

The NIL as it stands right now is not gonna work. Your idea that Clemson can't compete because we didn't buy a recruiting class for $30 million or that we haven't allowed anyone to pay our OL $50k each is ridiculous.

Everyone can plainly see the NIL isn't going to work as a boosters-buying-players system, and there are numerous coaches starting to speak out. It will HAVE TO change for college football to survive. There will be guardrails put in place.

Clemson will be fine. Just like the other 99% of programs who didn't pounce on the lawless release of NIL. Congress said they couldn't block it, and some schools immediately went rogue. It can't last without rules. When the top two coaches and others in college football say it not sustainable, then you best believe it's not.

So it will change. It has to. If by chance nobody stands up to govern it, then guys like Dabo will just walk out of the craziness. College football will fall apart. You can't have 1% (or less) of programs buying recruiting classes, under the guise of expected usage of names, images, or likeness, paying $30 million for 25 players.

You folks need to relax, thinking things are just going to fall apart for Clemson. The NIL is not the reason we lost 4 great recruits before signing day. Rules will be set up, and things will be structured.. or college football falls apart.

Once its fixed, then we have all the resources we need to remain just as successful going forward.

I don’t understand the media hates Clemson narrative

[1]
Apr 25, 2022, 3:07 PM

I really don’t. Yes, there’s been a few negative stories but for the most part the media loves Coach Dabo. Kirk Herbstreit has a child on the team. So he trusted Dabo to help raise his kids. I believe that’s about as good of a complement as you can give someone.

I mean they’re questioning his promotions (who’s not except for maybe 25 percent of the diehard fan base). Hopefully he knocks it out of the park but you can’t look and wonder if we should have went outside the program and hired candidates with more experience. That’s not to say that it won’t work out but there are some serious questions surrounding the program now. It also doesn’t make us any less of a die hard fan / alumni to question Dabo; his recruiting philosophy or his transfer philosophy.
It’s a Clemson fan board for us to discuss Clemson related things.

Nothing is wrong. Commitments are down across the board. I think the other week upwards of 70% of top prospects were still uncommitted, the highest number of recruits uncommitted for some time. People like Keller can claim NIL is an excuse but recruits (SOME RECRUITS) are using that for bidding war purposes. NIL has changed the game and whether you like it or not other schools are using Clemson's size and rural environment to negatively recruit against Clemson. Clemson is going to be fine bc the guys Clemson recruits or tries to recruit are guys that are big picture type's but even big picture players still listen. So while the whole change of coaching staff, NIL and the step back which schools have also used against Clemson is something the Tigers will have to overcome. I think getting back on top and in the Playoff and so these recruits Clemson is still there will be big.

It's hard to imagine Clemson remaining as one of the elite programs if we don't sign top 5 classes every year. Every other program will utilize the portal. Let's say our class finishes ranked 10th. That'll most likely mean 9 teams signed a better class and brought in impact players from the portal.

It's going to be difficult to beat teams that have a lot more talent than we do. Something has to chang in a hurry.
