What has happened to ACC basketball? Could one of you tnet

experts explain the apparent demise of our conference? Just as an example, there are 5 sec teams in the top 25 currently and only acc Dook in the top 25. This is the opposite of say 5 years or so ago. Love to hear your thoughts on this. Not acc vs sec but acc vs ncaa. Thanks.

At some point, the disparity in yearly payouts and the ability to pay for top facilities, coaches, support was going to finally show up.

My guess is that's what we are seeing..

Used to be only a hand full of teams who's coaches had ties to AAU runners and shoe companies were able to pay players without getting caught. Now that everyone can do it legally Duke, UNC, and Cuse have lost that advantage.

A huge part is the loss of the really quality coaches over the years. I have to admit I have no idea who the coaches at Wake, BC and Pitt are for example and the only reason I know Georgia Tech's coach is we play them every year and for Va. Tech, he used to be at Wofford.
