Opportunities
Things are usually pretty good around here but they could be really good in the near future.

I would imagine many of the readers of this blog feel about Clemson similar to the way I do. Many of us love this place and could never repay it for what it has given us.

I share your confidence, Mickey. When Dabo got the permanent job, I loved the hire. But I worried that part of the decision was money (compared to established coaches). I can see by what we pay our coordinators that the money commitment is not a problem at Clemson. I see a bright future.

I've always had a good time being a Tiger. I'm not real happy about handing the state to USuCk but I've survived the worst of that.

Dabo seemed to deserve a shot at HCing. I spoke no disrespect about Dabo out of affection for Clemson. He was coach and I believed every hire we make should be respected and given the opportunity to do the job.

He's sure surprised and endeared himself to me with his attitude even before I could see his vision. It was enough to almost keep me quiet about his immaturity and past lack of ability to manage team emotions. Not quite but almost. (int frag, bob)

In retrospect, it's one of the finest decisions I've seen Clemson make since Danny. It's like Clemson is reborn as on the first morning without frost in an early Spring. It's still brisk but refreshing to know there are better days ahead.

That is a commitment by Dabo Sweeny, he gives up part of his raises every year to be distributed to the assistant coaches and coordinators. He is one of the lowest paid head coaches in the ACC. I think we still have one of the top 10 coaching staff salaries in the country.
