What does it say about the character of a player who would

leave his Coach, the teammates he grew up with and his family to move to Florida and go to IMG? He might cost those players back home a chance at a championship....who knows. I am not a college coach and never will be but I would never recruit a kid who has already deserted one team before mine. I don't care how good they think they are. I can think of 5 that we have had committed from IMG and not a one of them played up to their Rating and only XT had any impact at all.

I agree. I have known a few that went to IMG and one specifically was one a HS team of stars and all he did was complain about how he didn't get the ball enough. Still haven't figured out how you going to get the ball more at IMG with even more stars ....but point being he was not a team player.

You're really blind here... Are you a da of a sports kid? I am. if I had the chance to move my kid to IMG because he was GOOD ENOUGH to go to IMG, AND we thought it was going to set him up to do better in sports and life.... dang straight he'd leave his team behind. One kid should not be responsible for an entire team... not at the HS level. And at IMG, they're not.... it's a team of studs. Something he'd never really grasp being the biggest dog on the smallest team back home. A father will ALWAYS do what's best for HIS kid.

+1. For some of these families, right or wrong, they view this their best chance either get out of poverty or at the very least get ahead, if their child can make it to the league. Definitely a horrible plan but some feel it is their best hope. Very unrealistic expectations which then leads to very poor choices.

Think about how many kids in South Carolina alone move every year to play for a different high school or a particular head coach?! Same scenario!

Dozens of assistants change programs within the state every year because they have a kid that is a great prospect.
