If Clemson had been on fire this game would be a blowout of monumental proportions. Instead, will only be a 30 point win.

Hate to hear this for them but it softens our own issues of young, inexperienced guys filling in on defense.

This kid was going to be the backup QB this week.

Their starter was out for injury last week and is expected to return Saturday.

This only changes the game if their starter has to leave for any reason.

Who is coming back? Purdy and Travis have been splitting the quarterback reps for the last few weeks, and both have played in each of those games.

Travis did not play last week due to a concussion the week before.

When Travis left the Pitt game (I believe at halftime), Purdy entered the game after a Blackmon INT in the early 3rd quarter.

Purdy started and played last week until I'm guessing this injury happened and the other true freshman QB entered the game.

Crap, you're right. It was a different QB that played a bit other than Purdy last week against NC State. I could've sworn that I saw Travis in the box score for that one.

So, we are playing against a FSU team that has had 3 different QB's to start for them in the past month. If this is the case, they have had as much bad luck as we've had with injuries.

Maybe the ACC did jump the gun to start of the season a bit to fast bc, with the off season training being so limited for players training together in the weight room and on the practice fields has left them not being in great shape, and not being ready for a college FB season bc, fall FB camp is only 4 weeks of prep ball getting ready to start the season.

Maybe the ACC should have waited to allow the players to get into physical FB shape to play a season. I mean we are having a lot of nagging injuries that seems to take longer than usual to recover from.

Could it be that the injuries are bc of the lack of anything close to a normal offseason for when players work to get stronger, staying in shape, and being ready for Fall camp???

That’s pure speculation and we have been getting in shape and practicing for a while. I think it’s pretty reckless to make that type of observation when you have zero evidence to support it. And every team has injuries that’s just part of the game. We have actually been extremely lucky the last few years that we have not had an injury bug. We were actually overdue for a rash of the injuries and with it coming this year it just looks like it’s worse than it really is because of all the emphasis on player health because of Covid.

Which conference's plan should we have followed, the big 10, or the pac 12? It seems like the ACC, the SEC, and the BIG 12 were pretty close in their approaches.

Travis is the one expected to return.

Sorry I forgot to specify in my first response.

Even with the original starter, non starter whatever, i would NOT play Tyler Davis or Jones. If Bresee ready, let him anchor the middle and play the others. Same with zanders.

See how it goes with pink and play Jeffries too. Give XT as many snaps he can handle. Who cares if they score 14-24 pts. Trevor needs to get comfortable with ej and Ngata... Get their rhythm and timing. Then helms the entire 2nd half with #1 receivers and a ton of oline rotation.

Hate to hear that. Awful news.***

My dream of an 80 - 0 game may become a reality.

I’m not sure how this is newsworthy. They could start their FG kicker and the outcome will be the same. Apologies in advance Brett.
