I agree. I think Dabo and the other coaches put a lot of effort into their recruiting. They seem to be very intentional in what kind of person/player they want. What if Zaire comes here and gets beaten out of another job? More whining and complaining and media craziness would certainly follow. Dabo is concerned about the health of the entire program, not just the qb. Hence, Clemson is an excellent TEAM.

and send message to current QBs and recruits that winning now is the only thing that matters. Kinda like bringing in a JC QB. That's what helped Helfrich get canned at Oregon.

I agree. Believe in what you have on hand. Develop what you have on hand.
We have two 4-star returnees in Kelly Bryant and Zerrick Cooper, plus a 3-star in Tucker Israel. We have a 5-star (Hunter Johnson) and another solid 4 (Chase Brice) coming in.
Why take a short-term, 1-year guy at the expense of developing this uber-talented crew? Because at least some of these guys, I can promise you, can seriously play, and will shine if given the opportunity.
I agree with those eyeballing Auburn or Florida or the like for Zaire. Seems a lot more like a fit. They need help and they need it now.
It speaks volumes that he won't return to Notre Dame, even though Deshone Kizer is probably leaving. Bad optics for Bryan Kelly, who also saw Everett Gholson transfer out on him.
