What are stats on NFL Team getting ball 1st in OT winning?

Jan 23, 2022, 11:17 PM

Seems unfair but some people say..hey, your D should be able to stop them, so it’s even-steven.

I say NOo way, give my team a chance to get the ball too on offense, as in college.

What says you?

I say it’s 75% that team winning toss wins outright.

Totally agree. That's one the NFL should change. I don't like the 25 yard college thing. But at least give both teams in the pros a chance to drive the field.

I agree. The games outcome should never be determined by a coin toss. I had a bad feeling when I saw that KC won the toss. Each team deserves a chance on offense, just like college.

In the NFL, 52.7 percent of teams winning the overtime coin toss (and receiving) win the game at some point in overtime, according to Ross Tucker of SiriusXM NFL Radio.

One NFL rule that needs to change. CFB gets this one right. KC lost to NE on their home field the same way several years ago. A team shouldn’t lose on the coin toss. It was obvious, either team would have won by getting the ball first.
A great game - I thought KC had no chance with only 13 seconds left when receiving the kickoff needing a FG.
Hopefully fan pressure will cause the OT rule be changed.

According to Dan Patrick Show this a.m.

^ SO, my guess of 75% was low!

If Dan said it was 9 of 10 won in NFL OT games.
