So when was that song? Right before he died, I will google and listen to other stuff you posted.
I started driving in 1998 and then I was listening to classic rock mostly. I didn't get on the 90s rock until 2000s.

Sounds good to me, but just not as catchy as no rain. Doesn't seem like that had much success other than that....I guess your frontman dying could be part of the cause.

where the radio would scroll the band and song and I could be like "Oh man, I never knew this was Zeppelin!" I mean, there are a few bands the common listener can't say "Love this song by The Toadies".
They simply know the song b/c it get's played a lot. They didn't go out and buy the cd b/c they liked 1 song. Shoot, I only bought like 10 max cassettes/cds because I was brought up during Napster and made sweet mix cds.

Therein lies the MP3 era problem in a nutshell.

That whole Toadies album was pretty great but erryone just went and downloaded Possum Kingdom for free and never heard the rest.
OK Computer might be the last time a band out the effort into making a great album as a body of work instead of using the Single/throwaway filler method.

about the same time as Blind Melon was coming up on peeps radar . . . . and all I could think was - What's with all the melon ? ?
It's stupid to have that in a band's name.

There's no shame in not knowing who Blind Melon is....

again, as I've said a million times before - it's all generational. I vaguely remember the song No Rain, but could've never guessed who did it, and probably wouldn't know any of their other songs. We're talking the 90's right... by then, I was probably late 30's, had a kid, and was focused on my career and working my azzz off. I wasn't sitting around smoking doobies and watching MTV.
Just like I could name many bands from the 60s & 70s that none of you younger guys have ever heard of. But people my age would smile and nod and say - "Oh man, I loved those guys, I had a couple of their albums and wore the grooves off. Saw em live a couple times, they were unbelievable!" And it wouldn't mean you were music-stupid... you just grew up in a different era.
Sorry for all the edits, had too much vodka and seeing too many typos.
