Not sure if anyone has broached this earlier. I would like to really, really, really congratulate the powers that be for finding a new broadcast home for Clemson football in the midlands!! Radio 1400 wow!! What a joke! I live about 12 miles from the station and can not pick the station up on a portable radio without static and constant interference. After sun set you can forget it! I can not for the life of me figure out why the yell we can't ink a deal with someone that does not use a AAA battery as their power source for broadcasting here.

Clemson seems to have a thing for dinky local yokel low power radio stations. Apparently getting the word about "best is the standard" hasnt reached this part of our efforts yet. Even the ongoing WCCP thing still amazes me. We should have dropped them 30 years ago

Carolina grads have always had a strong grip on the media in this state.
Just look at "The State" newspaper and all the ad hominem, un-confirmed, "anonymous sources" crap they post to slander Clemson.
When the coot player started spreading those lies about the "racist clemson players' after we beat them 56-7, The State took it and ran it front page as if it was actually a real national crisis.

93.1 is almost impossible to pick up in NE Richland County. If 1400 is poor try Camden’s radio, 102.7FM. They carry Tiger sports.

Yeah, not only NE, I’m in Lexington and can only get it in the car. Thank goodness for phones. It’s ashamed because some older folk in care homes etc only have access to radio or perhaps prefer radio.

You are right, but they exempt Clemson if Lugoff-Elgin has a tiddly wink match, or Braves baseball.

I got an Alexa for Christmas last year and hooked it up to my stereo for better sound.
I can now listen to just about any station. As long as it's on Iheart radio, TuneIn, etc...
I live near Cootlumbia and was mad because 93.1 wasn't broadcasting most of the baseball games. Now I listen to them all because WCCP is on TuneIn

FWIW radio is not in a good spot.
Look at the affiliate lists for anything over the last couple decades and you will see they are all shrinking.
Braves and MRN used to be huge now they are not.

They cracked me up when they did the "major overhaul" a couple of years ago. Took a buddy to GSAirport the day of the Great Rollout. Started getting the static at the exit ramp. Pulled behind the parking garage and the signal disappeared. Worked weekends at Chau Ram Park a few years back and had to bring my XM because the signal could not "limp on down the shoulder on the rim."
