Well, Wife and Bro-in-Law have the Covid, and I am

Dec 14, 2022, 8:19 PM

feeling pretty dang poorly right now myself. If it is the Covid, hope it is the weakened variant, I only have 60% of the lung capacity of a normal hooman to start with, it cood be bad. That being said, I am opting out of the rest of the night and hitting the rack.

Took wife to Urgent care on a Monday morning. Came down with it that night myself.
Went to Urgent Care the next day.
Got Monoclonal anti body treatment the day after that and was better within 24 hours later.
Took wife about two weeks to get over.

Get tested asap and see your doctor pronto. The sooner you’re seen, the sooner they can give you antivirals that help lessen the impact. It needs to be in a window of first 5 days I believe to be effective. Get going.

Dec 15, 2022, 6:51 AM

Talk to a doctor and get treatment!

I don't know your medical history or pretend to be able to give any official medical advise but I can offer my own experience with it. My wife and I both contracted it for the first time this year. My wife is mid-40s and in decent shape. She got it and had severe flu-like symptoms for over a week. All they could really give her was cold medicine to treat the symptons. I'm in my mid-30's and very overweight. Once my symptoms started, I self tested and was positive. I immediately called teledoc and due to my weight qualified for covid treatments. They prescribed me paxlovid. Within 12 hours of my first dose my symptoms started to clear. After one night's sleep I woke up feeling brand new.

That is to say, there is proper treatment available and please seek it. Treatment can help. Not getting treated can be deadly, depending on the variant and personal health.

If this is the weakened variant, I shore as Heyall never want to see the original.

76 be insistent on getting the available therapies. I had a friend triple vaccinated that had oxygen levels dropping into the low 90’s at the ER. The antiviral reversed the illness within 12 hrs. He did have a rebound of covid a week later but far less severe.

worthless Docs, she wanted to set up a computer visit, and I have no webcam, nor a cell phone, and no skills to operate same if I did. (MY computer monitor is my 65" Samsung Big Screen TV.) I told the nurse I would roll up outside the office and let her come to the car, they have done that sort of thing before for Ma-in-Law. Still waiting to hear back. I told them in no uncertain terms, this CANNOT be allowed to go into the weekend without the antiviral meds. If they don't come through with those, and I survive this, I will be finding another PCP.

Re: Well, Wife and Bro-in-Law have the Covid, and I am

Dec 15, 2022, 6:46 PM

Not saying vitamin D won't help, but i'm of a mind that preventive measures work best if used long term. Personally, i've taken vitamins C, E, and a multi vitamin religiously for about 45 years. Not to mention 2 Moderna shots and 3 boosters since covid appeared. So far, so good. Can't remember my last cold, never had flu, nor covid (so far). Just sayin' YES, take vitamins or whatever YOU believe/trust. Bleach too if ya want, it's everyone's decision. But DO NOT wait til ya get sick. And don't smoke (tobacco anyway).

I had covid a few weeks ago. My doctor pute on PAXLOVID. This really helped me get over the Rona pretty quickly. The sooner you start, the better it helps. Or you doctor may have another drug in mind. But definitely act fast. Go ahead and test yourself.

If you are at high risk, you should talk to your doctor. Pfizer has an oral medication to help prevent severe symptoms if you take it soon enough (within 5 days of first symptoms).
