Still a successful season….

Nov 27, 2022, 9:25 AM

When you think about the coordinators being in their first season there are going to be things that need to be ironed out. There is a lot of talent on the team but the player’s confidence is lacking. The turnovers, missed throws, dropped passes, missed assignments are all apart of that.

If we win our next 2 I will agree.

Having a chance to win one of the worst Conferences and playing

Nov 27, 2022, 9:28 AM

Like doo doo all year long, getting embarrassed by ND, losing to your instate rival at home, being a 14.5 favorite !!! This year was just as bad if not worse than last year bc nothing changed…..this year sucked and it ain’t over yet. Could easily go 10-4……with this schedule, that is terrible for a 11.5 million dollar head coach

They played theirs yesterday and won. Shane B out coached the anointed Saint Dabo.

He even said the last 2 games were their own little playoff. As always we get everyone’s best shot. Unfortunately twice this year that shot knocked us down.

Nov 27, 2022, 9:33 AM

4 out of 5 goals are still on the table. While I am disappointed and not happy with the way we are playing I’m not going to expect or accept 10-4 unless and until it happens. I’m not entitled to anything except being able to watch the games once I have purchased tickets.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

SMH....at what point do we stop hearing this?

Nov 27, 2022, 9:35 AM

10-3?.....10-4????

what's the BAR for you pumpers to truly admit the REAL PROBLEMS with this team????????

It's been obvious to me since 2019 LSU (that was the infancy stages of the cracks in the foundation)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: SMH....at what point do we stop hearing this?

Nov 27, 2022, 9:41 AM

At what point do you realize that a football team is not going to win every game and every championship. It ain’t the end of the world.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well, that didn't answer my question and I never said.....

Nov 27, 2022, 9:48 AM

I expect to win every game nor did I say it's the end of the world, but you pumpers just continue to move the goal posts and stick your head in the sand without acknowledging/admitting the REAL problems that have been plaguing this program since 2019 LSU. You let the Wins in this conference BLIND you and fool you into thinking we still have this ELITE program. You refuse to admit that DABO has gotten complacent and it has affected his hires, roster management, and killer instinct due to his lack of adaptation to the new world of College football.

now........will you answer the question?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: SMH....at what point do we stop hearing this?

Nov 27, 2022, 10:16 AM [ in reply to SMH....at what point do we stop hearing this? ]

The BAR for me is not a number. It’s more about effort and attitude. We “pumpers” know there are problems and are not happy with the current results but regardless of what you claim to know neither you or I KNOW exactly what the details around the REAL PROBLEMS are or how to fix them. That is the job of the coaches and they really do know more than you or anyone else on this bored or you would be on the sideline. I agree we have not been the same since that LSU game that we were before. I also know that real life says we won’t be on top all the time forever. I would be more upset if we had players opting out (zero opt outs for the Cheez-It bowl last year when we missed the playoffs for the first time in years ) or looking like they are quitting on the field like the TN defense last week. Or if I didn’t think the effort was there. Please go back and try to understand what Dabo meant when he says best is standard. It is well documented but you I told you so guys want to have your own definition so it will fit your complaining narrative.
So I have answered your question. What is YOUR BAR that the team needs to achieve for you to stop biatching in every post? How many guys need to be fired this morning? Do you include Dabo in that bunch of bozos?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Please tell me where the "effort" was by Dabo.....

Nov 27, 2022, 10:25 AM

when he went out a "searched" for the BEST possible OC and DC candidates for the job???????

the EFFORT wasn't put forth AT ALL by Dabo.

and yes there are 2 coaches that need to be fired now......that's where it should start.......and NO Dabo's not one of them.

the problems and solutions are EASY to see..........saw them coming for 3 years now, good thing is it's simple fixes that Dabo can make if he makes them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Please tell me where the "effort" was by Dabo.....

Nov 27, 2022, 10:32 AM

If you have ever led or developed a team of any kind you would know that Dabo put a lot of effort in those hires. He has worked with those guys for years to put them in the position to be ready for the next job. Way more effort than an interview with a potential outside hire.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yep, and you have to KNOW when those guys are ready for.....

Nov 27, 2022, 10:39 AM

the job.......whatever job that may be. In cases where they're not, OUTSIDE & Experienced hires/eyes are a better fit.

Dabo's TWO best hires he's EVER made as HC were from OUTSIDE.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: yep, and you have to KNOW when those guys are ready for.....

Nov 27, 2022, 10:49 AM

Ok. So now you have gone from questioning the effort to knowing more than Dabo. Again. SMH.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

bad effort and bad judgement....it is what it is.......

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, it’s not. Yesterday was the only game that matters.

Nov 27, 2022, 9:37 AM

Losing that game prevents the playoff which is the ultimate goal.

ACC championships are meaningless.

Re: No, it’s not. Yesterday was the only game that matters.

Nov 27, 2022, 10:29 AM

Making the playoffs is NOT one of Dabo’s annual goals. It is a by-product of achieving the 5 stated, well-publicized goals he has for the team each year. Winning the ACC championship is one of those goals. And now, the next game is all that matters.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

as long as we "try" it doesn't matter if we win the game....

Nov 27, 2022, 10:42 AM

Re: Still a successful season….

Nov 27, 2022, 9:41 AM

I disagree. We lost our only two outta conference games. Not a good look when you play in the worst conference. Overtime vs wake? Not a good look, doesn't matter what they're ranked. We haven't played 4 quarters in 3 yrs! I love Dabo but he needs to take the Roy bus to the shop for a major overhaul. I'm thinking he needs a new driver for the bus as well. Dj drives like a lil ol lady.

Re: Still a successful season….

That’s what Dabo will say as we continue to regress.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Still a successful season….

Nov 27, 2022, 11:12 AM

This is a good illustration of the issue. Many of the problems leading to this unpalatable season root in a lack of effecincy in a new, inexperienced staff. Too much change with too many fires for Dabo to extinguish and Dabo has no experienced, wise helpers to fix the multiple, concurrent issues.

It is absolutely a mess of his own making.

It could have been avoided by experienced, quality outside hires; however, he chose what we have now thus, leading to the afore mentioned multiple fires/issues.

You have to believe he knows he is completely over-leveraged and is reaping the consequences in 2 bad OOC losses.

Knowing that there is no way he gives up on 'his guys', the real question is 'what can he do to shore up Streeter and Goodwin, settle the obvious team issues visible on the sidelines yesterday, and put enough band-aids on all the bleeding arteries to make through the next 2 with wins'?

It will take very efficient and precise effort, management, and leadership to win the next 2. If they do win, regardless of how ugly it is, they deserve credit for putting in the time.

After that there is absolutely no time to rest or take off to Florida for 3 weeks. The program needs to be rushed to the OR for life-saving surgery. What comes out of that procedure depends very much on what we see the next 2 weeks.

The status quo is not sustainable if success is an expected outcome.
