Worst CWS in how long?

The closest games have been decided by 4 runs. A bunch of blowouts.
I remember the years UCLA and Virginia won were pretty bad from an entertainment standpoint, with nobody being able to hit a homerun with the bats. But at least the games were close

Pitching seems to be lacking this year although the Arkansas pitcher was pretty strong.

Totally agree on both posts. Just boring games. Without looking it up, think it's just been one walkoff win. Gone are the 3-2 games where a closer had to shut the door for said team to win.
Interesting that 3 of the 4 remaining didn't host. Only tex am at 5 seed. I'm pulling for Oklahoma since it'd be first time baseball and softball won natty from same school.

Funny, after giving you a thumbs up I noticed someone had given you a thumbs down. Must’ve been a Texas fan I reckon.

Baseball and entertaining rarely go in the same sentence. The best teams win and it that means games that are not close, so be it. If people want close down to the wire games, how many of our football games the last 10 years fit that mold?

Welp. When Clemson plays, a blowout in any sport are the most exciting games to me. Not that the close ones aren't just as exhilarating.
Any sports is exciting to me. Clemson or not.

I haven't seen a team yet that I was really impressed with. The Tennessee team was the best regular season team but they failed to pitch and failed to hit with runners on base. The field is wide open because there isn't a great team. The fact that Ole Miss is undefeated is sad. That team shouldn't have been in the tournament.

Definitely agree. Doesn't feel like any of the remaining teams really were the best college baseball teams this season. This SEC West tourney is boring.

My opinion is, pitching in general is tougher to watch nowadays due to the inability to throw strikes across all teams and not being able to locate their pitches. The determination by MLB to focus mainly on guys who throw hard has trickled down to college. It’s no surprise starting pitchers who routinely throw 95+ will have more trouble locating their pitches. Even college players will eventually time up 95 if you can’t hit corners . Add in that starting pitchers rarely go 6 innings, which means it takes more pitchers to get through a game.
It would be interesting to know what kind of interest a Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Zack Greinke, or Jamie Moyer would get coming out of high school or college if they came along 25 or 30 years later than they did.

Great analysis and observations. Interesting scenario you laid out with the pitchers of old.
Zandlin from Oklahoma is pitching a beauty today. He's dialed in and his FB is hitting 102... But it's refreshing because he's got snakes firing in at 102. Then throws the 85 breaker and tam can't do a thing but whif.
4 scattered hits thru 4 but has 9k's thru 4 also. Dnt at 65 so interesting to see how far he goes.

A lot of blowouts. So far, wins have been by 4 runs or more.
