New coaches won’t have much of an opportunity to change schemes and plays from this season, even if they wanted to.
Plus, we still have some key injuries.
If any notable changes occur, they won’t be evident until next year.

Stoudt against Oklahoma. However, watching the D without Venables and our get back coach, has me very concerned.

Streeter's been the QB coach for 8 years now and you're bringing up Stoudt's one game? Need I remind you that Oklahoma was #120 in passing defense and Stoudt threw right at the average. I just don't get thinking he's an elite coach because our QB, throwing to four NFL receivers, had similar stats to Clint Trickett, Trevone Boykin, Tyrone Swoopes, Jake Waters, and Bryce Petty. Truly a stellar league of pro talent (TBF, Mahomes and Rudolph also ripped Oklahoma to shreds, but that's expected). There's just a huge logical gap here.

I think a sizable chunk of the people here who are saying all the right things about Streeter as OC are truthfully somewhat concerned that our QBs didn’t seem to develop well under him. They won’t say that here though.
I think they are also likely to feel a bit uneasy that he hasn’t ever been an OC at the power 5 level, and are concerned that he might have picked up some bad tendencies from Elliott.
With that said, I think most of those people always fall back on Dabo historically making good hires, which has resulted in unprecedented success for our program.
As I’ve posted elsewhere, it would’ve looked better had Dabo (at least publicly) conducted several outside interviews before filling the position. That would’ve at least given the impression that he realizes that this is a desirable and important position and that he didn’t simply take the path of least resistance by promoting from within.
Of course, Dabo doesn’t really care about “optics” or what people think. He marches to the beat of his own drummer and that generally works out well for him. He’s earned the right to make whatever hires he wants to, knowing that it’s completely on him whether it works out or it doesn’t.
I think this hire is a big risk, but we have to trust that he made a great decision.
