Sep 2, 2017, 11:31 PM

It's not as if any penalty they could have called at that point would have changed anything.

How was that dirty. He just tackled him. What was he supposed to do.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sep 3, 2017, 10:29 AM

It wasnt intentional

Sep 3, 2017, 3:04 PM [ in reply to it was dirty and the refs allowed it*** ]

Bama player grabbed Francois by the right leg, Francois got up with an injury to his left leg. Not intentional.

I hate it for the kid. I was just posting about their O-Line and how it had improved, but not alot. AL players play that way and will take the penalty, we've seen it first hand.

Devils advocate here...

I didn't think the hit looked malicious at all...

I didn't so much either, just that Bama plays rough and to take players out. It is football, physical, he could have injured his leg in many ways. Either way, I think we would crush AL. Again.

We crush Alabama?

agree

Sep 3, 2017, 8:35 AM [ in reply to Re: Well Francois out for the year ]

it's a rough sport. that guy has taken a beating since he's been at fsu. I sent my buddy a text in the first qtr and told him I'd be shocked if he made it to our game. I hate it for the guy because he's super good

The hit wasn't dirty at all, football is a physical game and injuries are going to happen. Hopefully the injury isn't as bad as it looked.

Why do you say ACL? Those are usually the result of hyper extension. From the replays I would guess the posterior crucial or one of the meniscus, but it is extremely hard to predict that sort of thing from just film.
I just hope it's not serious, that kid is super tough and I'd like to see him at full strength again soon!

ACL and PCL stabilize the knee front to back. ACL tear is a deceleration injury. It occurs with the lower leg planted and the knee flexed. Upper body inertia carries through the knee joint and snaps the ACL. Hyperextension is more likely to produce PCL (though not commonly) and meniscus tears. Torquing or twisting injuries more likely to cause meniscus or collateral ligament tears.

Francois' injury looked like a hyperflexion injury. As such I would not be surprised to find both ACL and PCL injured as well as torn meniscus (likely both) in the back of the knee (posterior horn).

Hopefully it's just a sprain & not a career ending injury. The guy has a lot of heart but the Tide D definitely rattled him in the second half.

True freshman James Blackman. Fisher said in the post game conference that he'd be the next to play if Francois is out for a while.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wonder ife he is still this skinny.

ACL tear is more a result from a twisting motion which did not appear to occur. I'm thinking more of an MCL tear or hyper extension type injury. Neither of which are as severe as an ACL tear.

We've had two QBs that played with torn ACLs

DW4 versus usc and Tajh Boyd for most of his senior year in high school.

Plus, I have learned to wait for doctors' diagnoses.
