Past playoff contender with Hunter????

Does anyone doubt we would have been in payoffs this past season had we had Hunter? I understand the injuries at receiver and dropped balls, and the sometimes porous online. But even with all that, it was in our grasp and two games which should have been unquestionable wins cost us. I think Hunter in those two games alone would have made the difference. Similarly, don’t think he would have gotten in against UGA, but pulling DJU at the half then and inserting Hunter, I like our chances then too.

I watched a couple Northwestern games where Hunter Johnson started. Not any better than DJ, in my opinion. He seems to be a fine person and I am glad he is coming here. If I am reading things correctly, Hunter Johnson is not expected to compete for a starting spot, but to supplement the QB room. More like the 3rd string injury guy Hunter Helms was last season.

???? No! That is hilarious though. Hunter Johnson is not now, nor has he ever been better than DJ at any point in his career. Stop the nonsense!

In 2021 DJ was one of the worst QB's in Div. I... so if HJ wasn't actually better, it would be hard for him to be worse. A glimmer of a pulse in the NC State game and we win that, and with that we are much more likely win the ACC again. DJ's dismal performance in 2021 cost Clemson a LOT.

Did you watch DJ this year? Concrete boots. Indecisive. Sporadic (that’s giving him the benefit of the doubt) accuracy. No team leadership.
Hunter likely better in all the above.

Didnt' he throw 46% against weaker opponents?

Imo, he might have been a better scrambler. We need someone who can lead a receiver coming across the middle and keep a defense honest regarding the run.

I will go out on a limb and say definitely we’d have made the playoffs with Hunter....
Renfrow....at receiver.
IF....
We had a solid QB to get him the ball, and an Oline to pass protect.
Now if you’re talking about HR at QB, well he’s good but I think that’s a stretch!
