John Taylor is one of the best bass players of his generation.
DD gets painted with the boy band label because so many chicks drooled over them in the 80's, but they have a solid, non-embarrassing catalog.

but Dave Stewart really did have some musical chops, and was the brains behind the outfit.
If you're using the purists' view of R'R, probably too poppy for inclusion, but they're more rock than some of the baffling choices that have made it in recently.
