Rittenhouse should not have been in Kenosha that night

Nov 19, 2021, 7:47 PM

toting an AR15 on the streets. His victims shouldn't have been there either. Certainly none of the rioters should have been there. The hard reality is, in any world where common sense and civility matters, NOBODY should have been there at that time. As my parents would have told me, "Nothing good can come from it, and a whole lot could go wrong". Not surprisingly, in this super emotionally charged environment, stoked by the media, it did.

That doesn't mean that Rittenhouse, or anybody else, didn't have the right to be there that night; most of them probably did. I'm just pointing out that we shouldn't necessarily do everything we have a right to do, and sometimes doing so is the wrong thing to do, or at least we should do a little common sense, basic risk/reward analysis before acting sometimes. Had Rittenhouse, and several thousand other people done that on that night, this whole thing could have been avoided.

Don't get me wrong: Given that all of these people had made the poor decision to be in the streets of Kenosha that night, foolishly, wrongly putting themselves and others in harm's way, Kyle Rittenhouse had every right to use lethal force to defend himself after being chased and assaulted in such a manner. The jury delivered the correct verdict.

Correct. The problem is the governor. If he had a set of

just the tiniest balls, he would have shut down those destructive riots. Never allowed them to happen. But he didnt. He wanted destruction. So he got it. A teenager shoots a child rapist. Teenager a racist murderer.

All goes back to the piece of dogs**t governor

Easy. We wanted to stop Hitler and all of those guys.***

I think the main takeaway here

Nov 19, 2021, 7:54 PM

is that whenever there is an active shooter situation, it is best not to interfere, even if you are armed.

If Mr biceps would’ve killed KR

Nov 19, 2021, 7:57 PM

The lesson would be not to kill someone on incorrect assumptions that someone is an active shooter.

I don't think so.

Nov 19, 2021, 8:05 PM [ in reply to I think the main takeaway here ]

#1 Takeaway: Avoid violent protests and riots. Because that is common sense.

#2 Takeawy: Don't chase after anybody who is running away and then violently assault them. Because that is wrong.

Wrong. He went out and protected his community when

Nov 19, 2021, 9:36 PM

the government, who pretends to serve the purpose of protection, completely failed to prevent violent rioters from burning the place to the ground. The government said they would do nothing, and they did nothing. Rittenhouse's actions were heroic, and a great example of what Americans should do.

F*ck the government, they are parasites that do nothing for us. We need less (or zero) of that horsesh*t, and more people with gumption and excellent marksmanship.

I disagree.

Nov 19, 2021, 10:52 PM [ in reply to Wrong. He went out and protected his community when ]

NONE of them should have been there ... is the only right answer.

Now, given the fact that bad people were going to show up anyway, I understand why good people wanted to try to protect their business and properties, especially since the people whose job it is to do that did not. Again though, if my son had said "Hey Dad, I'm grabbing my AR15 and heading over to the riots in Kenosha tonight to protect the businesses up there", I would have forbidden it. That may not have worked with a 17 year-old boy, but I would have done everything in my power to stop him, and I would have been 100% correct to do so - look how it turned out. I wouldn't have gone and fought that mob either; i would hope for the best and deal with the aftermath, if any; it's not worth getting shot or killed over. Again, I understand the sentiment, and admire the courage, but given all of the destruction, it doesn't look like it did much good. Now the citizens there have to vote that idiot governor out.

I made the distinction clear - just because he didn't break

Nov 20, 2021, 1:02 AM

any laws, it doesn't mean he did the right thing. He certainly didn't do the wise thing. I totally agree that it's inaccurate and unfair to portray Rittenhouse as a vigilante. I do believe he basically had good intentions. He certainly didn't go there to kill anybody. He had every right to be there, and every right to defend himeself when those thugs chased him down and assaulted him with what would reasonably be perceived as potnetially deadly force. The verdict was correct, but, when common sense, safety, and risk/reward enters into it, a 17 year-old kid should not have been there in the first place.

I think you have me confused with somebody else. Jeesh, talking about sheeple.

He went there with good intentions I guess you missed that part?

If you bothered to read what I wrote, and have the comprehension ability of a 7 year-old, you'd realize that the reason(s) he may have gone are totally irrelevant to my point.

No surprise. Too much brainwashing by CNN, etc? How does it feel to he a CNN/ MSM Sheeople?

I really wouldn't know how that feels, as I very rarely watch CNN, except when I need a laugh or to see what the wacko left is up to. Even more so with MSNBC. You really don't know anything about me, do you?
