Wofford HC earns $161k per year. Brownell earns $2M per year. That’s 1.8 million reasons he might consider Clemson!

as Brownell. But he's been a hot commodity as a coach for several years and has stayed at Wofford. I really don't think he has any interest in leaving.

He has been a NCAA making "hot coach" since 2010 so he has had his opportunities to leave if he wants to. Considering Wofford gave him 7/8 years to start winning, I think he is a Woffy lifer.
However, because he "only" makes it to the post season 5 out of his 17 years, he should be "fired" by Clemson supporters for not being in the Tourney every year. 
I think he is a good story but he isn't an ACC level coach. The ACC will not give you 7/8 years of being 16-14 or worse.
I am kinda shocked that Wofford and UNCW never played a OOC game during the early/mid-2000s as that would be your Brownell matchup.

Are you talking about his 0-4 record with Wofford, coming out of the Southern Conference? That NCAA tourney success? Last night was their first win in the NCAA tourney. Not saying he isn't a good coach but coaching in the ACC is far tougher than coaching in the southern conference. Baseball series coming up, and bball game on Sunday.

Brownell has been twice (and OP gift wrapped him the 1st one). The competition is def better in the ACC... but so are the chances of making the NCAA. ACC gets 7-9 teams in normally. The SoCon gets what? 1 maybe 2?
