You are onto something. Blame the OL for RB only averaging over 4 yds a carry in a horrible running offensive scheme with haphazard play calling and.genius substituting after running tempo all the way down the field so that the defense can substitute and bring in a totally fresh defensive front in the red zone.

I know we wanted to pass last night...obviously... UT was #127 (of 131) against the pass. Cade threw for 320 yards, but we could never finish a drive.

However, failure to mix in the run put CK2 under huge pressure from the UT defense all night. Couple this with Jordan MacFaden's failure to block the DE and Walker Parks' whiffs on the linebacker, and our play calling made it easy on the defense. I hope that Jordan does well in the NFL, but (despite his great physical talent) he's got to stop being "lazy" and taking every other play off.

The run gets us down to the red zone, where dbs find it easier to cover wrs and that’s where we sprinkle in 4 straight throws.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we ran the ball 45 times. How much does it take to for the run to be established?

I believe most of that running was in the 2nd half after we had thrown it 40 times in the first half. I think establishing the run has to happen at the beginning of the game.
