I know we are piling on Brad about some things that happened in our game today. And some of our other games. Some of it is warranted. I couldn't watch the end of the game, Superstitious. Lol But if you can't shoot free throws and you know a team is going to foul. Hello?
But, I watched a lot of Duke-UVa and what I see is sickening sometimes. UVa's big white guy set high picks 4 straight times down the court and every time closed himself off to the ball after the pick. I was taught by Tates Locke to open up to the ball after the pick. Then UVa and Duke for the most part run some semblance of a man to man offense. But, sometimes they come down and everybody just stands around while the point guard dribbles. Wth is going on?
My point is, these are teams coached by guys that have been around a long time. They know the fundamentals. So what gives? Is it the players? Have the coaches given up? Do they trust the talent too much? All I know is I yell at the TV more than I should.
More transfers, more one and done, has teams not playing together as long. Also everybody wants to hit a big dunk or three pointer and basic fundamentals get overlooked.
