We just lost to maybe the best team in the Nation...

We will still be favored in our remaining games with maybe the exception of the USC game. We are still a very good team and I think a top 10 team.
FSU is a great team this year. We cannot deny that. That is what happens in Football.
How this team (and fans) handles this loss will define us and not the FSU loss.
I see a heck of a lot of positives on our team. Our offense is as good as any in the nation. We just didn't get the support from the defense in the second half and once the momentum turned, FSU's offense put the screws to us.
This is the best team we will play this year. I have no doubt about that. I see no reason why this team won't be an 11-1 team and maybe a candidate for a at-large BCS bowl bid.
If we get by VT and GT which I think we will, we will be fine. Neither team has shown me that they are in the league of Clemson and FSU.
venables has his work cut out for him. The positives is that we won't face another offense anywhere close to what we just played and I think we can really grow from this.
The time to hit the panic button is if we start dropping games to inferior teams...aka "Pulling a Clemson"......The key is to not let this game beat us a few times.
We just need to take this loss out on Boston College and correct the ship

like look the greatest team ever...that defense is a total mess. We can't rush the passer without blitzing to get to the qb....Manuel was able to stand back there all day and survey the field against a weak group of db's....with no pass rush those guys were forced to work even longer which exposes them even more.....our dline and lb's can't shed blocks to make a tackle....that defense is a total MESS. Our only saving grace is we don't play a great team the rest of the year until the SC game. If that defense plays like that against SC it's going to be a nightmare. Thankfully they have time to get better between now and then.

usuc doesn't look near as good as they have the last couple of years, they have yet to get into the meat of their schedule.

But I have to give some Credit to EJ...The dude played solid and a heck of a lot better than I thought he would. When we went up by 2 TD's in third, I thought he would fold like a lawn chair and that is when he really nutted-up and played great. Granted our defense helped him a lot but much of that was on EJ's talent.
Fortunately we will not play another offense that good this year and we now have a good sampling of our defensive strengths and weaknesses for Venables to really earn his money.....Sometime a Coordinator just doesn't know what he has until a game like this and what BV does from this point forward will define him and not the first 4 games

I saw nothing different, with the exception that, at times, the d appeared to be slightly better than the first 3 games of the season. At times.

Yea, have to agree, somewhat. I have seen "O"...Zero
improvement from our defense from last year. And I'm
not even saying there HAS to be a...Night & day
difference. But our defense isn't getting any better
, bottom line.

we will not face a d this talented the rest of the year, including usuc. we will improve a little on the defensive side as players further learn bv's system, but the talent must improve to see huge improvements. we will be favored in all our remaining games, usuc will have a few losses by november,too.

You can root for beating Duke and the others all you want but because we lost to FSU we cannot win the ACC title now. A win over the coots makes the season a success as long as we mess up any other games.
