If you could insert one RB from the past into our....

Jul 20, 2013, 7:37 AM

backfield (not SPILLER), who would it be? Mine would be Kenny Flowers.

Allen or priester if we want a big back to compliment all

Jul 20, 2013, 7:40 AM

The flash

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ran a 4.3.We didn't throw too much to our backs back then, but Allen had great hands out of the backfield.

A healthy Ronald Williams. Besides the fact he was the best running back I ever saw in person (not named Spiller), it would be kinda cool to have him playing on offense and his son on defense. :)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Priester so we wouldn't have to use Tajh so much on

Jul 20, 2013, 7:50 AM

short yardage.

That was my first thought. Might have something to do with my age though.

There are many fine RBs in our school history that would be

Jul 20, 2013, 8:56 AM

great in this offense....although I don't think it would be a good idea to insert Peters in our backfield.

Marvin Sims. Yeah, I know. Fullback.

Jul 20, 2013, 10:26 AM

I don't care. Anything 3rd and 5 or shorter would be a first down. The guy had something like 2 plays in his career where he lost yardage.

From an old timer, I would say Fred Cone. He was a great fullback!

Jul 20, 2013, 12:11 PM

one has said yet' even though they probably aren't the best option.

I think we'd all agree Spiller would be a tremendous asset not only in the back field but the return game as well...which we have been lacking a little. Just imagine a punk or kick return for a TD without our O ever having to step foot on the field...talk about a quick scoring offense, there's no faster way to do it.

Banks Mcfadden, Terry Kinard, Kevin Mack

Re: If you could insert one RB from the past into our....

Jul 21, 2013, 1:54 AM

Well, you said anybody but Spiller. So Terry Allen and Raymond Priester are perhaps the best choices. Have't seen a ton of love for James Davis but thats no surprise. Still haven't seen a vote for Jamie Harper either.

I'll play along and say Emory Smith. Hey why not; its an open ended question. He hasn't been listed yet and who can forget him dragging a coot defender many yards down the field. A huge RB could work out quite well in this system considering all the option reads that we run. But I get it. We need speed and its a loaded Q because the correct answer is CJ.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Honestly...

Jul 21, 2013, 2:14 AM

Ellington. Nobody hit a hole quicker... But I'd love Priester for short-yardage and CJ for a home run.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

James Davis

Jul 21, 2013, 7:14 AM

kid was tough...really tough. He always ran hard and was relatively decent in pass protection.
