Face It People..This Offense has Peaked this year

Aside from a few nips and tucks, what you see is what we have. This offense is no where near the juggernaut we've enjoyed for nearly a decade.
We don't have a homerun hitter at running back. The best chance has a falling out with the coaches and quit the team.
Our WR's can't get separation because they didn't have to in the past. We had QB's that could throw 50/50 balls on a dime and we didn't have to grind out long drives. We always had that one "Go-To" guy in Humphries or Renfrow to get that separation on must have downs. We don't have that.
We have a QB that is a statue in the pocket with eyes as big as the moon that freezes if the first read is covered.
It is what it is.
As from UCONN, I don't see any significant blow out.
After 5 games it's pretty clear that we aren't going to be much better on offense.
Time to ride it out and hope for a decent finish.

Honest question: do you enjoy watching our offense? We’re all Clemson fans- we will watch and pull for them regardless- but it’s not enjoyable.

This team could end up surprising us in a good way. I need to go back and rewatch DJs two starts from last season. From memory, I feel that he played a lot better than what he has shown this year. So if my memory is correct, there is potential for QB improvement. Also, Taisun deserves some series with the ones. Let him have every third series or something to get him onto the field. A healthy QB competition would be good for the team.
Elliott surprisingly called a better game. I liked the new running backs and thought they played their hearts out. Now if the receivers can learn to hang onto the ball …

It will get a little better but you’re right it’s going to be a struggle the whole season.
It’s very doubtful that they win out , I think we go 8-4.
Also the D can’t get off the field , can’t cover the middle . It’s so frustrating watching BC pick up easy first downs all night . BC probably played the worst game they could play and we barely beat them.

They improved this week from last week. Improvement shows that they can and will continue to get better.
"Registered in 2019" typical "new" Clemson fan.

You look like the new Clemson fan if you want to toss stones. I actually went to Clemson, class of 2013. I never saw us beat the Gamecocks and still root for Clemson. We all know you couldn't get in.

We had 438 total yards last night. Rushing total of 237

yards and 201 passing yards. BC's total offense was 368 yards, only 57 yards rushing. Clemson shows a much better balance this week. The team will get better each week. The more the OL is on the field, they will get better each week.

It’s actually not the separation or the accuracy on deep balls, it’s we’ve had no running game that scares anyone and they’ve stopped it without just 3-4 linemen. When we run the ball, we open things up in the passing game, that simple. Dabo said as much in his presser. Do you really think KB is more accurate than DJ? We had a run oriented offense that year that scared people abs that opened things up for KB to hit wide open receivers.

KB was absolutely more accurate than DJ and that’s not even debatable at this point. KB couldn’t throw the deep ball but was accurate on short and fairly accurate on intermediate passes. DJ can’t throw the deep ball and is extremely erratic on short and intermediate throws. He had missed short throws all season that KB could hit in his sleep.
And for the record I thought KB was an extremely ineffective qb.

when DJ was in. Line has to play better. Receivers have to catch. DJ had to improve and quit with the happy feet. I think the defense is better than last year, and will hopefully survive all these injuries and be even better later in the year.

This offense want be great but I think it will improve. We have good running backs. DJ no doubt can get better. He looked a little more comfortable last night than the first few games. He has a long way to go. The O line took a step forward last night as well.
The biggest problem I see is the lack of separation by the receivers. Elliot needs to create ways help them. Go Tigers
