Wayne Gallman & recruiting....

Apr 27, 2015, 9:41 AM

To the "he was a package deal" to go along with Robert kimDooDoo crowd...

Our coaches spotted TALENT in WG!

He's proved to us time and again. This young man (Gallman) is truly special. What makes it even more awesome is the he was truly "ALL IN" from day one and never waivered in his commitment.

While that "other guy" will wallow in mediocrity with Ole Mi$$, Wayne will help HIS team win a NC!!

Go Tigers!!!

Looking like we got the better player and person. Kimdookie would have been a problem.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was a 4 star running back.

Apr 27, 2015, 9:51 AM

Whoever thought that was silly

Wisconsin knows a few things about running backs and they were recruiting him hard. That is all I needed to know about that.

May 3, 2015, 11:31 AM [ in reply to He was a 4 star running back. ]

in all fairness, A lot of schools recruited him as a linebacker. With all the swings and misses at this position in the past, he has been a wonderful surprise.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You dont even know what you'er talking about

Apr 27, 2015, 11:01 AM

he was a 4 star RB on his own.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Most, if not all of that crowd was jealous pi$$ed of coots

Apr 27, 2015, 11:05 AM

that we're doing what coots do best in trying to find an excuse as to why nkemdiche committed to us. They also claimed we would toss Wayne Gallman to the curb if nkemdiche decommitted, but they kind of gave up on that. But it all worked itself out, nkemdiche is smoking bongs and remaining nearly irrelevant at ole mi$$ and Wayne Gallman firmly planted his foot in USuCks #### when they met so I'd say it all worked out for the better.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nkemdiche would have thrived at Clemson.

Apr 27, 2015, 11:28 AM

With the proper coaching and discipline that he would have received had he come to Clemson, Nkemdiche would have grown as a person and been a dominant player on the line.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I was thinking that myself***

Well you cant overcome bad self serving parenting though. That was the only reason mom was unsupportive of him coming to Clemson.

Re: Nkemdiche would have thrived at Clemson.

Apr 27, 2015, 6:01 PM

well, if he had come to Clemson, his mom would have never showed up for games or anything else. Plus he would have been away from his low life brother. He would either go by Dabo's rules and see how the other Clemson players are bettering their lives, or he would have been booted. IMO, I think he would have benefited at Clemson. I bet Venables would have gotten a lot out of him and more and would not take his crap

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nkemdiche doesn't deserve Clemson.

May 2, 2015, 11:35 PM [ in reply to Nkemdiche would have thrived at Clemson. ]

of Death Valley but I still take any of our starters from this past year over him. I'm not questioning nkemdiches talent or potential because he can be great. All I was saying was Clemson is not hurting because he went to Ole Mi$$, the main person who lost out there was Nkemdiche himself. It all worked out for us, that's one less major headache we won't have to deal with.

Great point! Look at M. Bryant of Steelers now. He was once on that same mental track toward the backdoor of Death Valley.

Apr 27, 2015, 12:22 PM

Wayne and Robert where never a package deal. Robert and David Kamara were. Both Wayne and Robert will play in the nfl. Robert will be a 1st rounder after this year. Guy is just huge.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's huge but not very productive

Apr 27, 2015, 12:25 PM

I think Ole Miss put too much weight on him and turned him into a DT rather then a SDE. I think he's speed has suffered

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He ballooned up his first season...put on like 40 lbs...

Apr 27, 2015, 1:47 PM

I didn't really understand the reasoning behind that...

That's what make me think maybe his time at Clemson would have been different. I wouldn't have saw the coaches putting him at DT unless that weight issue was his own doing and refused to do anything about it...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: He ballooned up his first season...put on like 40 lbs...

Apr 27, 2015, 10:36 PM

Da'Quan had the same problem. He was playing at 280-285 as a sophomore and clearly ineffective at getting to the QB. His Jr. year he slimmed down to 270 and regained his explosiveness.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

STS started all that four scholarships for one player chit.

Apr 27, 2015, 7:41 PM

You folks who don't know what the OP is talking about should try harder to keep up. Some of the idiots on this board accused Dabo of giving five scholarships to try and get Kimdeechee (sic). Carter, Kamara, Gallman, Nkemdiche was the four for one story, while Schulessler was often used for the fifth.

That was back when STS lived the belief that Dabo was perpetually flaccid.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsontiger1988-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't think anyone ever thought that about him. His film

Apr 27, 2015, 8:43 PM

was impressive. In high school, he played both offense and defense during games.

Wayne Gallman > Dalvin Cook***

Re: Wayne Gallman > Dalvin Cook***

May 3, 2015, 2:50 PM

I want that to be the case, but I see Cook at a completely different level talent wise. Cook is a game changer. Gallman had an amazing game vs the Coots though. 5 of his last 6 were great games actually. I think he averaged something around 6 yards per carry. Cook around 7 yards per game. I am thrilled with Gallman. He has supposedly gotten even bigger and stronger and really maturing to top it all off. As far as Cook, he is kind of a Spiller type. One notch down obviously. He will have a huge year this season. Should be a fun year watching their growth. I would take Cook any day of the week if we were drafting players etc and there was no personal connection. I am not taking anything away from Gallman. I am just giving Cook the credit he deserves from what I have seen. He seemed mor natural. On the other hand, Gallman seems like he was just getting more comfortable at RB. The more I type the more I question everything I wrote here though. At this stage I see Cook at a different level. Anyway, go Gallman and go Tigers!

people are just but hurt that he went to ole miss and that we had the number 1 recruit committed and could not or did not keep him. be real and call it what it is. we have done ok with out him, but saying you are glad he did not come here is being delusional. take your meds and keep fooling yourself!

you need to go back and take a look at how positive everyone was that we were getting the number i recruit in the country when he committed. then when he decommitted he was hot garbage. funny how that works! it i.e. called being a hypocrite. if the shoe fits wear it.

Re: Not my "shoes"....***

May 3, 2015, 9:25 PM

LeadTiger - I think you're misunderstanding the difference between "hypocrite" and "sour grapes" - which is really what you probably meant to say. Nobody here is being a hypocrite about RK.

That being said - the posters I've seen indicate that RK would have been successful with the right program (CLEMSON), but RK will be just another "also-ran" type of player come draft time. His momma screwed him out of millions.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His self-aggrandizing arrogance at a post-season game

May 4, 2015, 2:21 AM [ in reply to Re: Not my "shoes"....*** ]

was when I changed my mind... There's no room for that. Naturally I was excited to get the #1 rated prospect but after seeing how he acted, I thought better about the "bad apple" effect on a locker room. I hope Swinney continues to be selective about character issues irregardless of talent. Now, about your 'lead' shoes...

I thought the guy people were complaining about was the DB who was offered and (thankfully) later decommmitted. He was definitely part of the package deal, and thankfully he didn't stay with us.
