Auburn RB upholds tradition of squirrel catching

Upon his arrival at Auburn, now-former Tiger tailback Onterio McCalebb burnished his reputation for sprinter-quality speed with tales of catching squirrels on campus. (Plays like his game-winning touchdown run against LSU in the 2010 BCS title run didn't hurt, either.)

This didn't seem like the sort of baton that could be passed on now that McCalebb is a free-agent signee with the Cincinnati Bengals, but junior tailback Tre Mason -- a 1,000-yard rusher in 2012 and arguably the only bright spot on Auburn's disastrous 2012 offense -- Tweeted a photo on Monday that could make squirrel-catching something of an Auburn tailback tradition.

"It's funny," McCalebb told al.com, "but I don't know if he caught that squirrel or not."

And thus begins the wait for video, we guess.
