Watching the games without ESPN?

Jul 17, 2016, 8:57 AM

Does anyone know any legal ways to watch Clemson games on TV if you don't have ESPN? This is not about me trying to save a few bucks, there are other reasons I won't have regular access to ESPN this fall. It's going to be tough to miss any games, and I'm way too far to travel to them. Anyone have any suggestions? I might try Sling TV, but don't want to pay for a bunch of channels I won't use if I don't have to.

Are you talking watching them live? I'm watching the Miami whitewash right now off YouTube on the smart tv. I know a couple of sites stream games live but not sure what they are.

Yes, I'd like to be able to watch them live.

Although I guess listening to the radio and then watching them afterward on youtube wouldn't be absolutely terrible. But I'd sure like to see them live.

Sling tv is by far the cheapest legal way -$20 to $30

A month depending on which ESPN channels Clemson will be on during the stretch.

I used Sling TV all last season and it was fine.

I added the $5 Sports package to get a couple of extra ESPN channels. $25 total each month. You want a fast enough internet connection to keep from buffering and to maintain the HD signal.

As soon as the Championship game was over in January, I cancelled Sling.

I'll re-subscribe next month. That's the nice thing. You can cancel and re-subscribe at any time.

Between that, going to three home games, a couple of sports bar visits and a buddy with a gigantic projection screen in his back yard for night games and cookouts, I did pretty well last season.

Here's Sling's internet speed recommendation:

I didn't know you can cancel / resubscribe Sling at any time. That makes it a great offer. It sounds like based on these comments that this is the way I will go. I will have access to fast internet.

Sling TV was good... until the NFL game was on ESPN

It would crash their servers big time, every channel would lag due to the volume of viewers. Besides that yeah it's a good option that you can pick up and put down anytime.

I used Sling TV last season. I got the upgraded sports package. It was $25. Thinking about getting playstation Vue because it has espn and Fox sports. I think that package is $35.

You must have fast Internet for this option to work for you.

As someone who has never paid for traditional cable, Sling TV has been the best option I have been able to find. Vue will be better because of the DVR type capabilities.
