The arena is full and the fans are crazy. What a great environment. How heartbreaking as a Clemson fan.
I hope Neff tunes in to see that a school can be good in football AND basketball.
Oh, and then there's Auburn...
Bottom line: please let us stop settling for mediocre (and making lots of excuses along the way). It's not complicated: find a good coach and give him the resources. I know good coaches don't simply grow on trees, but we're Clemson. LOTS of coaches would kill to come here. We don't have to beg.
Stop aiming low. Don't settle.

Nate Oats has really sold the fans and students. They average 10k in a 12K arena with 2K students.

The population of Tuscaloosa is 100,000 plus. Clemson is somewhat smaller than that!

We can make less money in the ACC and still compete money-wise in football, but we have to commit a larger portion of our budget to do so. The SEC schools now have that extra money they can dump into other sports like basketball.

Fan support counts. A vociferous crowd can win you a couple of home games a year. There are very few programs in the country that are as handicapped as Clemson when it comes to potential fans to fill the seats. That is why the students could help coach Brownell if they would accept the challenge. I am much more concerned about the lackadaisical student attire than the Coach! He playing with a big handicap not induced by his game performance.
List the major colleges that you are aware of that have a population of less than 20,000.

Nate Oates is tremendous coach & was a great hire for Bama...Maybe someday Clemson will find that diamond in the rough.
