Watching our Tigers from Asia-help

Aug 26, 2018, 9:38 AM

Looking ahead to the calendar i will unfortunately be in China for Ga Tech and Singapore for Syracuse.

Anybody had much success streaming games from there? Game times have not been announced, yet—hoping for a night game but resigning myself to watching either a 12a-3a game or 3a-7a. Bars will be closed.

I have Directv and ESPN app in the states, obviously I’ll try that first, but I’ve had limited success with this in past outside my area for live TV.

Any tips?

Try SlingTV. It has three ESPN channels.

Use a VPN and you can stream as if you were in the states. I use the one on my work laptop when traveling and then just watch via ESPN. There’s a ton of VPN options now which can make your IP address look like you’re in the USA.

Several years ago before streaming was big and I was living in Asia, I had to resort to using shady websites, mostly out of the EU. Something like front row sports I believe it was called. Normally I could watch the game, but it was a miserable experience with never ending pop up ads and poor internet service.

Yeah, a VPN should do the trick

I used Private Internet Access in the past and had no issues.

The shady streaming sites are still around and have improved in quality. Still plagued with ads, but if you use an adblocker it's not that bad.
