Watching Etienne career highlights and it has occurred to me…

Apr 16, 2022, 10:32 AM

…if he ever has CTE, it is not due to head trauma suffered during play. He suffered more head trauma by head slaps from his teammates and coaches after touchdowns and big plays than by any defender. Christian Wilkins may have independently altered Travis’ cognitive function with his insurmountable open-handed pimp slaps against the tiger paw on the side of his helmet.

This is a serious concern and should be a primary focus for the NCAA going forward. I personally believe it should be mandatory that all student athletes are instead solely slapped on the rear end as a celebratory gesture. Of course, rules will have to be put in place for the state of the slapper’s hand amid the slap, so as not to confuse with harassment or the massaging of one’s glutes. I also pondered for several hours if a wide receiver decided to use a different pronoun for gender identification, it should still be acceptable for a teammate or coach to slap her/their buttocks.

I also weighed the pros and cons in a Venn diagram for a gentlemanly handshake as a separate alternative and there’s room for this in sports. Potentially in fishing or MMA, but not in football.

Travis, you were the GOAT. Please try to stay away from the end zone until these rules take affect. Stay away from Christian Wilkins, especially.

I enjoyed that. Love the satire.
