It made no sense to give the offensive player ample time to break free and then penalize Boulware for doing what was needed to get him down.

Flag? A flag? For what? Excessive Tackling?

Actually had a ref call that in one of our high school games. He literally said, "Penalty on the Defense. Excessive Tackling."

Sideline and bleachers had some "Excessive Language" for the next 15 minutes or so...
