Realistic outcome for Cole Stoudt

Feb 24, 2015, 3:09 PM

In my honest opinion, Cole isn't an NFL caliber QB. I think that he's and undrafted rookie that may make a living on practiced squad MAYBE...at the very best, he's a third string QB. I'd be too scared to see him take over for a team after their starter gets benched/injured. I really think he would stink up the joint. Anything is possible but this is the likely outcome.

fail against Oklahoma - wouldn't it be ironic if he did make an NFL game like another Tiger QB did not, although, I hope they both do.

"team" not "game"...quit badmouthing Cole - he was all-in!

Feb 24, 2015, 3:48 PM

Injured and betrayed by Morris, when not expecting to play him again, told the world about "Cole's 20 plays", which GT players said they knew by heart! Coaching change was what he needed. How can you have confidence in yourself, when your coach does not trust you?

Feb 24, 2015, 8:07 PM

He didn't trust Cole because Cole was not very good. It made no difference that gt knew those "20 Cole plays" cuz Cole starred down his receivers and the defense made easy interceptions. He could have had 500 Cole plays and it wouldn't matter. Chad morris was not the reason Cole was so bad this year. Cole was.

better than Boyd. Sorry, but Stoudt has zero chance of even making a practice squad. He got his one shining moment in the ball game. Still pulling against Tajh, even though the person you said was going to be better wasn't even in the same galaxy as Tajh Boyd was for us.

Not sure that he wouldn't make a Canadian team though. It's possible IMO.

That's where Tajh needs to look also. Not sure why he is ignoring that option. He's never going to make an NFL team IMO.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I personally don't think he's an NFL caliber QB, but he does

Feb 24, 2015, 8:05 PM

have the measurables and the arm strength, a team could work on him, help him read defense and he could end up being an NFL player.

Other than that I think he would make a great coach somewhere, all the players love him.

I think he will get a tryout somewhere but eventually get cut. He does have the size and the pedigree with his dad being a former NFL qb.

You never know, he's got the raw talent. If not, with his positive attitude and great personality I suspect he'd be a very good collegiate coach.

Feb 24, 2015, 9:12 PM

He actually made some ### good throws down the field after going through his progressions.

That's after like a month of working with a better QB coach.

Let's be honest, Tajh wasn't a superstar at going through his progressions and making the right throw either. If I'm an NFL GM I'm looking at Morris as the cause of poor decision making vs good defenses, and giving Stoudt more than a month with a QB coach who knows what he's talking about, and see what happens. And don't get me wrong, I love Morris, but play-calling was his forte - QB coaching? Not so much.
