Was it just me or were there some pretty bad calls yesterday

What is the point of the replay officials if they blow things as badly as they did yesterday. We got some breaks and so did VT so it balanced out but I thought it was just terrible yesterday.

I think the incomplete call on Nuk was a TD, but at the same time Sammy fumbled and it was ruled down. It all worked out for the god guys in the end, but definitely some missed calls.

I didn't think you could gain yards on a fumble.

1. There were two VT incomplete laterals during the game that went out-of-bounds. Officials missed the first one and spotted the ball at the original line of scrimmage. They picked up on the second one and spotted the ball correctly. 2. On one VT pass, the receiver caught the ball with his knee on the ground, stood up and picked up 5 additional yards after he should have been called down.
I hate stopping the game on plays that were obviously correct, but replay officials should have stopped the game on both those missed calls.

The receiver actually bobbled the ball as his knee hit the ground, then caught it on his way back up.

Watch it again before you start questioning people's knowledge of the game. His butt was still off the ground and the ball was out.

You should watch it without the orange colored glasses. I'm about as big a homer as there is about calls going our way, but there was one view that was clear as day that he was still in the air and the ball was out.

maybe watch it another 15 - 1000 times, and you're still wrong. Sorry man - but you're just plain wrong on this one. The call was horrible. Especially on the replay. The ONLY part of Watkins that touched the ground was his right hand prior to ball coming out - and that was pretty close. The hand doesn't count, so the call was bad.
You could have put "War and Peace" under his butt and it would still have been a bad call. (BTW: that book is very thick)

I noticed that as well. It was the chicken game (as well as another SEC game which I can't remember now) where I noticed a ton of bad calls too.

with replay to get the calls right, yet didn't, even though they very clearly and obviously had the calls wrong on the field. There was plenty of evidence to overturn.

days I've seen in quite a while. I honestly feel that most of the calls went our way for once. I must say that Frank Beamer handled the reporter's question phenomenally well. The FSU/UM calls were just as bad. Can our conference call any more negative attention to itself?

They are the absolute worst officials in college football and to further compound maters, there is no accountability for their incompetence.
